This is ME..either deal with it..or GET LOSS!
Running Scared...

The cold fog surrounds me as I run through the dense and silent woods. My breathe comes out in tired pants, but I know that if I stop I will die for sure. My clothes are ragged, torn, and bloody from the claws of the hungry beasts that hunt me. The pain is unbearable. Each punishing step on the hard dirt ground tells me that I am one-step away from them. However, I can hear them; their howls to the moon and the terrifying sound of an animal snapping its jaws right at you. I try with all my might to once again use my cursed power over ice however; it has no effect on them. Each time they freeze the immediately break out of my ice barrier. The idea is not to stop them, since I know that I cannot, but to slow them down and further make my escape. These cursed creatures of the night are werewolves those who walk among us in the day; friends, lovers, family; and turn on us when the moon calls to them at night.
I encountered these creatures when I decided to avenge my family. You see werewolves are the reason that I am alone in this world. I thought that I could handle what was to come but I could not. As soon as I walked into the werewolves den, I knew I was in over my head. I saw that there was more than I expected to come upon. It was as though there was a league of werewolves. Since the moon had risen just before I stepped into the den; they were already transformed. Hairy bodies three times the size of a normal human, long fang that looked as though if they were to take a bite out of you, you would be a goner, yellow glowing eyes that captivated you when you looked into them. And I knew, as soon as one of those piercing yellow eyes turned towards me, and gazed upon me’ I was way over my head. Before I could turn to escape however, they began to attack me. My only way to survive, so that I could once more return, was to flee. Now here I am, running scared for my life, with hungry treacherous werewolves literally breathing down my neck.
My life hasn’t always been like this. So lonely, and full of solitude. I had two loving parents who made my world everything that I could ever dream. And just like that they were violently taken away from me. The werewolves had caught them unexpected. Witches and wizards do not usually fall prey to the beasts of the night. However, the werewolves that my beloved parents encountered were not your average werewolves. These had the intellect of a human. You see, when humans turn into a werewolf they lose all sense of humanity. It’s as though they are in another time and body and when they return back to their human form when the sun rises, they forget all that has occurred. They don’t remember all the terror that they retched the night before.
I found my parents body. It was as though one taste of the flesh of my parents was not enough. They were mutilated right in front of our home. There bodies full of bite marks, torn flesh hanging from their bodies. You could see most of their organs have been eaten or half eaten. But the worst of the decapitation was that their hearts were completely gone. The hearts of the parents that showed me so much love was nowhere. I wanted to die right then and there. But I knew if I did I would be doing the one thing my parents always told me never to do, give up. They would say, “Someone who quits is someone who is weak; don’t be that weak person Raven.” As I remembered those words I vowed that I would avenge my parents if it meant my life. I just didn’t realize those words may very well come to truth. Now I may have to live up to those words…
I run through the woods, hurt, scared, and alone, with branches hitting against me, bugs flying everywhere, and werewolves trying to eat me. When the exit to the woods is near, I sprint as fast as I can towards it. Once I am finally out that dark and frightening place, I stop and give a moan of despair. For I front of me was a great lake. One that I did not know was in these parts. The werewolves are now upon me and in one last act of desperation I scream, SOMEBODY!!! ANYBODY!!! HELP ME!!!!. As those last words fall from my lips, I feel a searing pain in my back and fall into the lake into oblivion.
I awaken slowly, not knowing if I am still alive or dead. I cautiously only one of my violet colored eyes and see that I’m still at the woods, by the lake. But, I’m not there alone. The carcasses of the werewolves that were chasing me are lying just at the exit to the woods. I look around me, trying to find the source that stopped the werewolves from killing me. And then I see them, surrounded by the glow of the angels, are my parents. They look at me with love and in their eyes, the same eyes that I see in the mirror each day, and smile. A smile that means a million words. And I smile back and finally let them go. There is no more pain, anguish, and resentment in me that was there when I learned of there deaths. Only a sense of understanding that, I have loved and lost, but they are not really gone. For in my heart they will always be. Their deaths will be avenged some day. But today, I’ll only remember.
