A Twisted Tale

''Guardian Angels are supposed to be keepers of souls...others say they are keepers of the gates of heaven...Yet in other cultures it is them who are the Archangels, and they control the world.'' Miryoku heaved a sigh, and flexed her fingers. She stared down at the neat page of her studies, and started to mutter. ''Dad's always working, bringing home stupid twitty women...bringing home boring bosses....I want you here Mum.'' Miryoku leant her head on her arms and began to sob inside of her. As a shining tear fell from her cheek, it landed with a ping, on the words, Guardian Angel.

There was a sweet smell of roses, and a twitter of birds, and a blinding flash of white light. Miryoku lifted her head, and started to rub her eyes. ''Just the faulty wiring in this crap-shack. Why can't I just go home?'' Suddenly, the bell rang. She stared out the window, and watched as the Students of Woodstock High filed through the gates. Mr. Doku walked in, and instantly began to rant at her. ''It's time to go home Teki! get going!'' he packed up his things and walked out, grumbling about students.

Miryoku grabbed her bag and threw her books in. She ran out of the door, down the corridor and through the gates, ignoring the taunts and calls from behind her. She fumbled with the key of her house, and sat down on her couch. ''OK...Calm down..it's just a coincidence...'' She turned on the TV and began to watch a show, but she wasn't concentrating. She was daydreaming about her mother as an angel...when she heard a voice.


Please! turn that rubbish off!'' The voice came from the next room, where there were sounds of someone making food. ''Dad? is that you?'' Miryoku ran into the room, smiling. ''You're not my father! You're a-''
