It's late and there isn't any way to know if everything is okay..
The fear of so many things strike at me with relentless force all at once as I look at the time and at the emptiness that is our conversation... will this be the moment? The last one that i've always dread...? Or is this just in my mind?

Years now.... and the feelings I get when it all feels like it's slipping away... still feels as strongly as ever. The promise of a perfect life.. a simple one but a comfortable one.. all of it seems to be hanging from a tethered rope ever so worn and about to rip apart..falling into lava and you are the net.. but you have so many holes.
