I used to get in trouble a lot. For random stupid things like murdering my neighbor, eating the dead dog, and blowing bubbles in my milk. Most of the time it would be for the last one.
My parents would then tell me to stand in the corner. I'd think to myself, Why a corner? Is there something special about the corner? Or maybe it's because thats the part of the house that's never cleaned. Like when you sweep and mop and dust, no one ever gets in the coners and thus they begin to spawn creatures from other deminsions. I think it was started with a child who was aracnaphobic and their parents told them to stand in the corner for punishment because that's where all the cobwebs are. Have you ever watched a horror movie? All the items with cobwebs are always in a corner.
Someone somewhere in time after the corner punishment developed had a child with a facsination with bugs, which srang out of being in the corner so much the spiders became the only creatures familiar to them and raised them as their own and their original parents were like "Screw this you're not alowed to have fun." And thus time out was developed.
My entire kindergarten year was spent in the time-out chair. Or making a fortress out of my napping mat and throwing things at all the sleeping students, these items usually included paper, cardboard, lunchboxes, h-bombs, books, erasers, pencils...
I had a lot of time to think about things in time out such as, "When I go home am I going to boil my toy horses, decapatate my barbies or run around naked in the backyard?" all which of coarse, spread the way for my intelletuality.
Right now I'm going to go sit in the corner, my friends get jealous when I don't pay attention to them.
