Hi guys! So, I was feeling creative a few days ago and came up with a poem. My inspiration was the metaphor, "eat your own words." In this poem, a character says something to someone, only to later regret saying whatever they said.
Eating my Own Words
]How did it come to this?
Why did I have to push your buttons
I should've just kept my dumb mouth shut
But I couldn't my words from bubbling up
I really shouldn't have teased you
I guess I can't help it boo
But now I'm in my own ruse
Cuz now I'm eating my own words
Dear I know my words were cruel
I wanted to make you a fool
Didn't think I'd ever get schooled
by you
I saw you blush, and I couldn't hush
I walked away before you spoke up
and now I'm eating from this cup
It's a bitter pill to swallow
And my words are gonna follow
Bitter, bitter
every bite is bitter
I look forward to the end
where we can make ammends
But until then I'm
Eating my own words
they always say "think before you speak"
I was to reckless to stop my mouth leak
Now I have to eat my own words
God I wish I never spoke
Cuz my words taste just like smoke....
