Yesterday I was involved in a "vegetarian" forum in ED that got a little out of hand. Feel free to look it up in my post history if you want. I was there all the way up to page 9 - I think. Anyways, I got so frustrated with this guy (he was just so *stupid*) that I start spazing out on him, and that is not something I want to do when I debate. Although you could hardly have called it a real debate... but anyway -
I've decided to outline some guidelines here that I will try to stick to, especially if I get really *ahem* frustrated. stare

Ignorance and Stupidity
These are my two favorite insults! I know it's not a good idea to start out with insults, but oh well! biggrin I'm in that mood.
Ignorance and Stupidity are essentially different.
Someone who is ignorant has simply not had the benefit of gaining a certain knowledge. They can be taught and they can be forgiven. I myself will admit to being ignorant (unless a stupid person calls me that) because I am willing to learn.
Someone who is Stupid lacks knowledge and understanding but is also not willing to learn, so they are a hopeless case. You can forgive them if you have the grace.
My principles...
Never attack someone for their opinions. They have a right to their opinions. It's only when they wrongly insult a group of people that it's safe right to attack them.
Be careful, you may become very frustrated with their opinions and attack them without realising. Try to think through your posts, stay on topic, and always remember why you even posted in the forum.
Stupid People
Some people are just stupid. They always have been stupid, and they always will be stupid. Just don't mess with them. Comfort yourself by knowing you're smarter. You've already won in that you are less ignorant.
This gave me an idea!
Hey, let's think of some compliments! They'd be words like smart and intelligent, but they'd have to have some essential differences...
