I like the Boys And I’m a Boy
People say I am
Growing up, he has always been a vibrant caring person with an eagerness to love. He has his fun loving side, and is very childish in some ways. Mostly in the way he physically acts, not being able to say what he wants or feels, it is often shown in his body language and expressions. He is not Independent, and relies heavily on others. He often attaches to one person, and often times becomes somewhat too attached, and is willing to change anything about him self to accommodate this person. He is not a very strong willed person, usually just doing what others tell him to do, or fallowing them around. He has his aggressive streaks where he can get violent, but usually only in self defense. In ways, he is very animal like, and will often times lash out if he feels threatened. More recently, he suffers major trust issues and has become very cut off from the world and other people. He's not social and would much rather stay in a single room with one person, then be out at a party. In stark contrast to his social, fun loving and out going past self.

What Happen before I was Marked
Benjiman Livingston was born into a wealthy Orlando family with loving parents and an older brother named David, nicknamed Dahvie. His family lived in a rich neighborhood and had great influence. Benjie was a pretty quiet and calm baby, but as he got older he did seem to be developing normally, he wasn't talking. Despite the family's best efforts, by the age of three, Benjie still remained silent. Fear something serious, he was put through several tests, doctors fearing he could be deaf. When his hear was cleared, the doctors simply shrugged him off as a quiet child. In the meanwhile, his father was getting frustrated. There had been no problems with Dahvie, and he was convinced Benjie was just 'dumb'. He constantly tried to get the child to speak, tried teaching him, which only lead to more frustration for both of them. It wasn't until he was five years old did another doctor examine him closer, where it was discovered the boy was profoundly mute due to under developed vocal cords. Accepting the fact that her child would never talk, Benjie's mother worked hard to accommodate her child, having already taught her son sign language early on. His father on the other hand was to pleased with this, and was not okay with have a 'defective son'. He spent many hours trying to find a 'cure' and conversing with doctors, while refusing to learn sign language. He openly belittled his son, making snarky remarks, calling him stupid and useless. Benjie quickly turned to his brother for comfort, who embraced him. Tension between their parents grew, their dad loved Dahvie and showered him with love, which only pushed his son away more. Dahvie soon grew against his father, preferring to stick close to Benjie's side. After their father hit a ten year old Benjie for the first time, their mother kicked him out. He left and never contacted the boy's again. Dahvie was glad to have his father gone, and worked on trying to fix the damage left on his brother, who was deeply scarred by it all.
Growing up, Benjie had always struggled through school, for unknown reasons, he was never as good as his peers. With dyslexia ruled out, he was just believed to be educationally handicapped.. Suffering to make friends, Benjie was often the outcast, and at times even picked on by his teachers. Later on, his education handicap, coupled with the muteness, and other subtle mental issues, doctors begun to believe that his muteness was not only physical, but also neurological.
When Benjie started high school, things did not turn out well. He was overwhelmed by the amount of people, and quickly fall drastically behind. He was bullied by his peers and made an outcast. Even some teachers belittled him. One believing his muteness was simply a joke and sent him down to the office in tears. After only three weeks in the school, his mother took Benjie out and enrolled him in an alternative school along side his brother, there due to a brief drug problem. The school offered things the teen desperately needed, including counseling, accurate help with his learning issues, accepting students and teachers, and small classes. There, Benjie met his first real friend, a boy named Matt. They initially met because Matt knew sign language, his father being deaf, and easily understood Benjie. Surprised by some one, outside his family, understanding him, he quickly became close to him. But when Matt started skipping school and seemed greatly troubled, Benjie dug further. Finding out that Matt, at 16, was a struggling single father, living on his own after his parents disowned him. After the mention of dropping out (to take care of his daughter), Benjie ran to his mother out of desperation. Upon hearing the boy's problems, she offered to take him in and shortly after, he moved in with them, along with his daughter Melony. With Benjie's mother working from home, she could watch Melony while Matt was at school, and convinced him to quit his job to focus on his education. He continued to live there even after Benjie was marked (two years later), and eventually moved out with Dahvie.
Benjie had always had an ear for music. Unable to talk and struggling through about every subject in school, he turned to music as a release. First learning piano at the age of 3. Starting in middle school, he begun playing in the school band. Upon entering high school, he enrolled in the jazz band playing tenor saxophone. When he switched school, his new school did not have a band (being a tiny alternative school), so he simply walked over to the main high school (about a block away) to attend their band. In that band, he was widely accepted and developed several friendships. Though during high school, tagging along side his brother, Benjie got involved with alcohol, though his drinking remained limited to parties and gatherings with friends.
When Benjie was 16, walking from one school to the other, he was marked by a tracker. Following the news that he would have to leave, he broke down in a panic attack, having become very dependent on his brother, best friend and mom, he struggled with leaving them.
