Feeling: Nostalgic

I remember how as a child, I would always look forward to going to the pet shops. Even if it were a small shop, it always seemed vast, endless, and magical, when we were little.
As an adult, when I see them now, all I could see are the cracks in the paint, the terrible management, the neglect for the pets, and the secret doors that lead to employee rooms. I see the excited kids that were once me, and many jaded adults that I might just be, at some point in my life.
But then I realize, that just because I understand the reality of how things are as an adult, it doesn't mean that I can't appreciate them for what they always meant to me growing up.
