Balancer: Act I, Part 2
"I said talk." Connor repeated after a minute, staring down at the empousa as he cleaned the blade off with one of the rags before checking the time on his watch.

"I already told you what you wanted." the monsters spoke as her form switched from it's current look and to that of a girl who could easily go as a cheerleader, Connors eyes still hollow. "How can you torture us so much worse than what our races have done to you children of the gods?"

"Comes with the life I was given." Connor spoke as he looked down on her before he pulled up a chair and sat down. "And the person you told was your torturer, and he wasn't really in a talking mood from the news, so that means it's bad enough to shake him up, which is why he told me to hear it from you, so talk or I'll bring him back out"

The empousa then went wide eyed in fear from hearing him as he looked at the wounds she now had. despite the original cuts in her stomach that was given by Ardnathal, he saw that three fingers on her left hand were cut off, and two of them had scorch marks with gashes that went inside, some cuts poking skin out on her hands to show how far each knife thrust went in. With a sigh, the empousa began to speak. "The plan is to attack all three camps in three large waves of monsters, using halflings to go in and sabotage the equipment and defenses." the empousa spoke as she looked at him, his eyes still stern.

"How did you learn of the location of the third camp?" Connor spoke as he finished cleaning the blade and put it back in it's holder, his eyes making the empousa squirm on her chains.

"We had inside help from a few of the satyr and fauns that have been treated poorly by the campers." the empousa spoke, reminding Connor of seeing two dead fauns one time in Camp Jupiter's streets, strangled from what he had saw, though he helped find the culprits and put them to justice so he thought the problems were dealt with. "They'll be sabotaging the walls and the source of Camp Halfbloods protective barrier with C4 disguised as clay."

"You'll still need an extremely large force, you'll be facing the children of gods whose followers had caused great victories, Leonidas, Alexander the Great, Julius Caesar and Lucius Quinctius Cincinnatus being the best examples." Connor spoke, though he felt he was forgetting another person as he spoke. "How many monsters will you be sending?"

"Five thousand on each camp, and I had finished gathering the last of the forces to be sent after the Roman camp coming from this area." the empousa spoke, her eyes looking at him in anger and fear as her form kept changing. "And the ones you mentioned were demigods or the strongest of their followers."

"Well excuse me for only going through the ones I could remember, but now to the best question." Connor said as he reached his hand down and lifted her chin up to meet his eyes, letting her see the amount of focus he had on her information. "Who has the power, leadership, and inspiration to bring all these monsters to rise and try a major assault on the camps? Who can bring monsters to listen to their will?"

"The question is who nurtures their children, and who do the children always listen to when they've done something wrong?" the empousa replied, making Connor look at her confused. "To be more precise, who acts like a mother to them, and who would be in the best position to lead them thanks to her own abilities?"

Connor's eyes then widened from realization. "Echidna, that's who's rallying the monsters?" Connor asked before the empousa nodded. "So how long until the attacks?"

"five days time for the Roman and Greek Camps, four for the mixed camp." the empousa spoke before Connor let go of her chin and stood up.

"That's just the information I needed, um, what's your name again?" Connor asked while looking at her, causing the expousa to look down at her feet.

"Why does it matter, you're going to kill me anyway." The empousa spoke, making Ardnathal appear beside the two.

"And why not, I mean we've already cut off a few of her fingers, along with severing some areas on her, so it would be a quicker and less painful way to heal her by killing her and letting her reform somewhere else." Ardnathal spoke before he flew through the wall in shock, Connor looking in his direction in anger.

"It all depends on how you act after I free you." Connor spoke, making the empousa look up at him shocked. "Unlike most people, I understand that you creatures can regenerate severed limbs after a given period of time has passed, the fact of how one of the cyclopes whose eye I stabbed was able to barely see a few weeks afterwards is proof of that. So you have two options, you can be freed and released or you can die, but only after you swear on the River Styx to not tell any living or nonliving thing of this current event until the intended date for the attacks have passed, nor will you give any evidence that this happened and try to change the date it will begin."

"Are you serious?" the empousa asked before Connor reached into his pockets and pulled out the key.

"I swear by the River Styx that I'm telling the truth, though if you deny it then the second option is a quick or slow death, depending on what side of the coin I decide to toss." Connor spoke before he heard Ardnathal screaming a slur of profanity at what he just said. "You can answer by giving your name or not, though."

The empousa just looked at him before she closed her eyes, thinking on what would be worse. "...Themis, that's the name that Hecate gave me when I was created." The empousa finally replied before Connor smiled and unlocked her handcuffs before she lifted one of her hands up in her face, staring at it closer and in horror before she looked back up to him. "I could've given you a false name."

"Then you would've waited longer in order to think up one, unless you have a friend with the name, either way it will be what I'll call you." Connor spoke as he took the monsters hand and pulled her up. "Now do you swear on our agreement by the River Styx?"

"I swear it." Themis replied before Connor let go and signaled for her to follow, picking up his xiphos and shield at the doorway before they left the room. "Why are you being so friendly now?"

"I have a form of split personality that's completely different to what the doctors call it, had it almost my entire life." Connor spoke as they walked down a set of stairs before they were going through another hallway, this one covered in drawings that he had made when he had found this place five years ago. "I don't know what happened, but one of my friends thinks it has something to do with my godly parent, Janus."

"You're the son of a Roman god?" Themis asked before looking at the sword and shield. "Then why do you use greek weapons?"

"They just feel better, and are the only weapons I took to right away." Connor spoke as he opened the door out to reveal the open road. "Just walk a few streets down and you'll find one of the restaurants that the monsters used to use to lure demigods in, now just a hangout from lack of people."

Themis didn't reply to it, just walked past him and started to run as she saw the road, making Connor smirk before he walked out and around the building before he saw his car parked there, a large RV that he had been driving around on for the past year, buying it with the money he had inherited from his father's will and putting most of the items his father had also given him inside of its compartments, save a few items that he carried around with him in memory, including the necklace his father wore that bore the seals of Tyr, the Valknut, and Mjolnir. Connor then held onto the seals on his neck as he remembered his father before he went into the drivers side of the RV, starting it up.

"So where are we heading?" Orrin asked as Connor drove out from behind the building and onto the highway.

"The closest pit stop to sleep, then we're getting some water and making a few calls." Connor spoke as he drove, looking at the signs to see which way they were going.

((There we go, finally getting this out of my head. So tell me how it looks so far, I'm all ears.))
