So I was thinking about stuff today, and that always leads to some kind of a rant that most people like so here we go:

In an RPG, you run around killing things to make yourself a living god among all the insects you're fighting. Only to progress to another area to discover that the insects are now able to squish you...

I recently played Baiten Kaitos.

DO NOT TOUCH THIS GAME!

I hated it to hell! Well let's get the good points out of the way first...

THe battle system was very unique and I actually enjoyed it for a time. and the fact that the voices for the text didn't suck was cool. That was IT.

Everything else sucked! Graphics do nothing for me in a game. If it plays horribly it is! And this one definately was. Lets go back to the battle system for a minute.

You get an option of 3 cards, these will either be defence (like armor) or attack (like a sword or spell). The 3-4 cards are random depending on your deck. Now in order to defend you need defence attribute cards.

Well what happened was that once I got to this stupid dock, these enimies that could totally stomp my a** decide, hey, lets all attack the same character. Well I bet you'll only carry about 5-6 defence cards so it will be IMPOSSIBLE to stop 20+ attacks... also, these guys are resistant to almost everything you throw at them. If you can attack that is. Usually when its your turn that character is practically or is dead and needs to be healed. Basically you need BOTH characters to servive, thats right, you get a whole 2 characters... WTF!

Also lets say your coolest weapon at the moment is a fire sword, well guess what, the fire went out and now its a cheap a** Short sword (worst sword in the game) Also, a healing item will suddenly become a weapon... this is waht really pissed me off as I hated that I couldn't control this.

So unless you like getting stomped royally, or want to endure endless level ups, or like your weapons evolving into s**t, then by all means play this game. Although the graphics are good, that isn't what makes an RPG good.
