Sex robots? I do not think so.
Last night I was both bored and looking for inspiration to develop a character for one of my stories. This character is a robot-girl and the main sidekick to one of the main characters of a story I titled: "The Beasts from the Sky" about a group of rebel zombie exterminators who travel around the world on a flying fortress, you know, killing zombies by deploying paramilitary forces anywhere they feel like and basically breaking any possible law about violating every nation's sovereign air-space in the world. Fun stuff.
So, there I was, looking for pictures of "sexy robot girls", to know what has been done and what haven't, what works and what doesn't, but mostly what does it felt right for me; when I tripped with this little article titled about "sex robots." I went and check the article, and watched as much as I could of the video at the bottom of the page, until I just simply started to feel way too sick to keep watching.
I mean... Ok, I can deal with the fact that there may be people who may feel like having sex with robots. I'm nobody to judge them, really; but there is one thing I can't possibly understand: Why would anyone ever want to have sex with a robot which doesn't look like a robot at all?
It makes no sense to me! If you, little piece of freak, want to have sex with an entity that (allegedly) looks like a real woman, (allegedly) feels like a real woman, (allegedly) react like a real woman, and (allegedly) can give you pleasure just like a real woman; then go get yourself a freaking real woman! Darn you!
Let me see if I can clarify my point better with some pictures, ok? And let me ask you this: which one of the following looks to you like an actual sexy robot?
Can you see what I mean now? In one side we have the epitome of the evolution of technology, the perfection of artificial intelligence and the ultimate multi-purpose robotic design. While in the other hand we have an overestimated blow-doll with some servos and sound effects.
And don't think they are going to get away with this insult to all things mecha. After all...
