Noel:
Noel comes from the big city. He is sure his parents have gone insane. They decided to leave their well-paying jobs in the big city to move to an ancient farmhouse in Willow Creek, a small town in the the middle of nowhere. His little sister loves it, it's like Little House on the Prairie, but Noel isn't as happy. Until he meets some handsome cowboys.
Noel likes fancy soap and blowdries his hair into floppy perfection. He hates mice and American football and mud and being beaten up by the guys in his new high school because he is too 'queer'.

Jay:
Jay is a cowboy who has lived in the country all his life. His father was a sheep farmer and sent him to business school at the nearest community college. Jay stopped after a year, declaring it was a waste of time. Jay has his own farm now, with a herd of alpacas. Other men laugh at him and his frou-frou animals, but he's proud of his herd, and the fact that they make him a lot of money.
Jay and his secret lover, Conrad, have a quiet routine in place. To the rest of the town, they're just drinking buddies. One day, Noel catches them together and they have to rethink their relationship.
