On my Honor
She had fought honorably and no one could deny that. Being the last of warrior of her clan, she felt she had the obligation to avenge her people or die trying. He father would have been proud. Her enemy, the captain of the guard, had asked his men to fight her single handed when she challenged him to a duel.

The King had mandated that her warrior clan was a threat to the kingdom and the guard had followed orders to destroy the village and the people.
However, her father, her brothers and the other warriors had managed to get the women and children out of the village along with some of the younger, inexperienced warriors. Her people's lineage would not die. And the King would not find them. Her people specialized in producing skilled warriors and part of that included how to disappear without a trace to survive.

She wore her black warrior clothing, boots, light armor and carried dual swords with her. Her head wrap concealed her gender. She was the only warrior woman that had passed the tests and had been allowed to join the ranks of the clan's Elite warriors. Being the youngest child of the children in her family and the only female child, her father and mother had been against her goal of becoming a warrior. But her father gave in eventually and being the chief of the clan, he had been beaming with pride for being father to a very strong woman. All of his children were Elite warriors.

But now her village laid in waste, with her dead comrade's bodies laying around and the houses burning. The smoke, and stink of death were overwhelming. But she was not going to run. Her father and brothers laid amongst the dead. Her mother had been able to escape with the others. But she would not run with them. She would remain behind, fighting to protect the others, just like her comrades had done.
The fight with the Captain of the guard was even. She was quick, and strong, and gave the Captain a run for his money. The Captain was impressed by his opponent's skill and intelligence. However, after several long minutes, she started to feel weary and that eventually proved to be a weakness for her. Her guard was lowered for a moment, and the Captain saw the opening, and took advantage of it. He had cut her back, kicked her swords off her hands and then knocked her to the ground. Bleeding, and in pain, she moved out of the blade's way and then tried to knock the Captain off his feet. But he was fast, and anticipated her move. She pulled out a shuriken knife and tossed it at his hand, and he dropped his sword. But he went after her and both engaged in hand to hand combat. She staggered as she felt the blood soaking her back and her body growing weak from the blood loss. It wasn't long when he finally subdued her. His men intervened and held her by the arms, forcing her on her knees.
The Captain picked up his sword and said to her 'Any last words, soldier?'
Her eyes were the only thing that were visible and she glared at him with defiance as she tried to keep herself conscious.
The Captain was met with a cold look and silence. One of the men tore her mask off, and gasped with surprise at discovering that she was a woman.
'Captain! T'is a woman! ' he said.
The men began to murmur, the Shadow clan's Elite warriors were known for their discipline and endurance. A warrior woman amongst them was unheard of.

Valeria of the Shadow Clan knelt at the Captain's feet, and looked at him with no fear. He had her fate in his hands, he could execute her. But death didn't matter. Her honor did and she had fought valiantly. Though her fellow warriors were dead, the rest of her people were safe and so their legacy would not be lost.
The 22 year old woman of brown smooth hair tried to maintain her gaze with her enemy's, but the weakness soon overwhelmed her and she felt herself be pulled into darkness unwillingly, as she waited for the final blow.

((all right. Shes taken as a captive. Obviously I want romance, but I want it to build up slowly. Her love interest can be the Captain, a soldier or anyone else. So PM me if you're interested ))
