Captain J. Trident
The Marine
"Call to God if I cross your path and my silhouette hangs in the aftermath; hope is a moment now long past, the shadow of death is the one I cast"
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Trident, a top US Marine Corps Special Forces Operator, has been sent in to give assistance to the friendly forces in the area, He inst going to win the battle for them, but he is going to make sure that they win. John stood at the end of the ramp of an C-130, at an altitude of 35,000 feet. He was wearing an oxygen mask, because the air was to thin. The jump chief helped make sure that all of Trident's gear was secure and ready for the jump. The pair waited for the green light from the pilot, as they approached the jump point. The light went off, Trident stepped to the end of the ramp and jumped into the cold blast of the high altitudes air, hit him. He was performing a HAHO jump, to allow him to get into the area of the city that has already been taken by the enemy forces.

He drifted in the night sky for some time before he pulled the cord letting the chute out and fill up with air slowing his decent. John soared through the air for miles before landing safely, without being seen or heard on the roof of a tall building. He unhooked and wrapped up his chute and carried it into the stair well were he was able to ditch it. John was able to take off his jump gear and be combat ready for what ever may lay in the floor below him. He pulled out one of his M18 Mod 0, and had it at the ready and made his way down to the top floor of the building. He cleared every room and made sure that no one was in there besides them two. He found a room that would best provide the best vantage point for him to engage the enemy. He placed explosives on the stairs leading up to the floor he was on and in other areas so that it would be triggered if an enemy was unlucky enough to walk up the stairs to go after him in his hide. Trident began to set up his hide and made sure he couldn't be seen once he was in his position. He pulled out his, M-39 Enhanced Marksman Rifle, a semi-automatic sniper rifle, designed off the Classic Battle Rifle from Vietnam, the M-14. His rifle was kitted out with an for extreme accuracy and adaptability, his rifle was apart of himself an extension of his body and mind. Trident got down in his shooting position, prone gave him the most stable platform to shoot from with the attached bipod.

He looked through the scope and started to gather the distances of land marks in his area of vision so he could make quick adjustments and take out targets as the entered into the kill zone area. He marked a car out as the furthest that his rifle could shoot at 1,000 meters. He marked the rest of the targets at every 200 meters back to him. He could engage each of the targets as the entered into his line of sight. Trident pulled out his Advanced Ballistic Computer (ABC) out of its pouch on his tactical vest and his field manual and linked it to his sight, to get the best readings that he could get. John began taking his measurements, collecting all the data that he would need to make accurate shots. He pressed the mic button on his throat so he could speak with Command.

"This is Trident, Overlord I am in position and ready to take out targets as they enter my sights."

He said into his mic around his throat. Letting Overlord know that he has made it to the advantage point and was in his hide ready to begin his operating in the area.

"Copy that Trident you are clear to engage all targets as they present themselves. Be on the look out for any High Value Targets, if we can remove them, the command from the area the forces will be less organized."

Overlord responded back to him over the radio.

"Roger that, going silent, I'll radio in at the marked time, if I'm not compromised. Trident out."

Trident replied back to Overlord. He released the button, and settled back in behind his sight ready to engage any unlucky tango that entered his cross hairs. It was not long before the first target entered the kill zone. John focused the cross hairs in at the poor soul who was about to feel the wrath of the of his sniper's special high procession round, the MK 316 MOD 0. He got the distance of the target at roughly over the 1000 meters. Trident ambushed his target and squeezed the match grade trigger smoothly, sending 175 grains of Diplomacy down range. The bullet screamed through the air moving faster then the speed of sound. The round hit it's target in the Sniper's Apricot, the medulla oblongata, severing the brain from the spinal cord. The Tango had no idea what hit him, he didn't hear the sound of the shot or feel getting hit. He simply died instantly, no pain and no sorrow. As the body fell limp to ground bleeding out in the the war torn streets, the faint crack of Trident's gunshot, could not be located, and went unnoticed due to the sound of war ragging all around them.

"Hey, what is 3.81 times 2."

Trident whispered to himself asking another target as he focused in on him with his Rifle. Obviously the tango could not hear him.

"That's Right, 7.62"

He said as he squeezed the trigger on his rifle sending another 7.62×51mm, MK 316 MOD 0 round down range dropping another tango who was making threats against innocent civilians, dropping him dead in the street with a bullet to the apricot. His body lay near the civilians he was traumatizing, as they quickly thanked the lord that they were saved. John did not count his success on how many targets he takes out but on how many lives he saves.
