Cinderella: Horror Side

Once upon a nightmare, there was once a little girl named Cinderella. Cinderella had just lost her mother to illness. Her father remarried a beautiful woman. This woman had golden blonde hair and reddish-brown eyes. Her stepmother had two daughters; twin daughters. Her daughters dark brown hair and dark blue eyes. Her new stepmother and stepsisters dressed Cinderella in rags. They instructed Cinderella to do all the cooking and cleaning for them. In return, they would keep a roof over her head, clothes of her back, and food in her stomach. So for the next eight years, Cinderella slaved for her evil stepmother and stepsisters.
The day before the Grand Ball at the Royal Palace, her stepsisters are preparing their best dresses for the Ball. Cinderella was racking out the ashes from the fireplace.
"This is going to be the best ball ever!"
"I know. I hope the Prince dances with me."
"No. He is going to dance with me."
"No. He is dancing with me!" Then Cinderella's stepmother walked into the room.
"Both of you, stop this at once! It is not lady like to bicker like this." The stepsisters looked at their mother and then turned back to preparing their dresses. Cinderella stood up from the fireplace and turned to leave the room. She tripped over one of her stepsister's shoes. The bag of ashes flew out of her hands and into the air. The ashes rained on her stepsisters and their dresses. Her stepsisters screamed in horror at the sight of their dresses ruined. Her stepmother looked at Cinderella with a look of disgust. She walked over to her and picked her off the ground. "Come with me, Cinderella." She dragged her out of the house and took her into the nearby woods. After walking for some time, her stepmother stopped in her tracks. She kept her gaze away from Cinderella. "I have noticed lately you have been quite the klutz. Have you been trying to make me angry? Well, now you have crossed the line." She turned around with a knife in hand. She stabs Cinderella in the heart. She lets go off the knife as Cinderella falls to the ground. Her stepmother looms over her as she laid dying. "Now I dont have to put up with you anymore." She walked back to her house, leaving Cinderella laying in the woods. Cinderella tried to call out for help but it was in vain. She closed her eyes and laid there dead. Cinderella laid there for a day and into the evening of the ball. An old woman noticed her laying there and walked up to her. The old woman crouched down and pulled the knife out of her chest. She muttered a few words in an unknown language. She stood up and walked away from her. Within moments, Cinderella's heart started to beat again. She slowly opened her eyes and sat up. She looked around before hearing a voice.
"How do you feel, young one?" She turned to see an old woman standing beside her. The old woman wore a black cloak that covered her face. Cinderella noticed behind the hood of the cloak, she could she the old woman's pitch black eyes. In front of her eyes was her wispy black hair with a few strands of silvery hair. Cinderella nodded at the old woman.
"Yes. But, how am I still alive? I was sure I died." The woman looked at Cinderella and smiled.
"I brought you back to life with my magic. I am a witch after all." Cinderella was shocked that the woman in front of her was in fact a witch. "Although, it won't last long." Cinderella stood up in fright and stepped back a few steps. "I can make it last forever if you do me one thing."
"What is that?"
"I want you to go to the Grand Ball tonight and kill the Prince before midnight. If you don't, you return to a mere corpse." The witch reached out her hand towards Cinderella. "If you agree, shake my hand. Won't you shake an old witch's hand?" Cinderella reached her hand towards the witch's. She hesitated slightly and grabbed the witch's hand. The moment she grabbed the witch's hand, she started to change. Her dirt covered hair was reveiled to be a beautiful dark crimson red hair. Her firey red eyes started to shine with a brilliance. Her skin was shown to be pale in color. Her rags was turned a beautiful white gown. The witch let go of Cinderella and turned around. With a wave of her hand, a carriage appeared before them. She pulled Cinderella towards the carriage. Cinderella climbed into the carriage and sat down. As she sat down, the carriage took of towards the palace. The long ride to the palace was silent and cold. Cinderella was shivering due to the cold weather outside.
Soon, she reached the Royal Palace just in time for the Grand Ball. She waited for the carriage to come to a a stop before she exited the carriage. She lightly stepped out of the carriage. She looked down at the ground and noticed her shoes. She wore beautiful glass slippers on her feet. Cinderella approached the door leading into the palace. As the door opened, she could hear the music playing and the sound of laughter. She walked into the ballroom and was in awe at the sight. She looked down from the staircase to see many people dancing in the light. Everyone was laughing and having a good time. Soon she heard a voice from behind her.
"Look for the Prince's face." She turned around quickly to see the witch standing there. The witch placed in Cinderella's hand a sheathed knife. "Use this to cause pain a misery on those fools." Cinderella gripped the knife and turned to the witch. But the witch was gone and she was alone on top of the staircase. She turned back to the ball that was taking place below her. She tucked the knife out of sight under her dress. She started to scan the faces of the people looking for the Prince's face. Soon, she located the prince in the crowd. The Prince had chestnut brown hair and greyish-green eyes. The Prince turned up to face her and smiled. He walked over to the staircase and stood at the bottom. He raised one hand to Cinderella, luring her down. She descended down the stairs three steps at a time. When she reached the bottom of the stairs, she stopped in front of the Prince. The Prince gave her a quick bow and held his hand out to her.
"May I have this dance, my lady?" Cinderella curtsied and place her hand in his.
"It would be a honor to dance with you, my Prince." The Prince lead her out onto the dance floor. He pulled her in close and place his hand on her waist. They began to waltz across the dance floor. Cinderella looked up at the Prince and smiled. The Prince smiled back and they continues to dance for the most of the party.
Soon, Cinderella caught sight of the time on the clock tower. She frozeat the time she had left to do the witch's task. She only had ten minutes left till midnight. The Prince followed her gaze upto the clock. He turned back to her and gently pulled her face to face him.
"Is somethin wrong, my lady?" Cinderella stared at him and shook her head slightly.
"I can't do it..." She pulled away from him and started to run away. As she ran, one of her glass slippers came off her foot. The Prince started to chase her as she ran.
"Wait! Come back!" He stopped by the glass slipper and leaned down to pick it up. As he reached to pick it up, the glass slipper burst into flames. As the fire died down, only ashes remained of the glass slipper. He stood up and started to run after her again.
Cinderella stopped in front of the clock tower to catch her breath. She turned to face the clock and stared at the time. Only two minutes left until midnight. She heard footsteps behind her and turned to see who it was. The Prince was running towards her. She turned to run but the Prince grabbed her wirst.
"Why did you run away from me?" Cinderella turned to face him. Tears were running down her face as she looked at him. The Prince took his hand to wipe the tears off her face. He held the tears on his hand and kissed the tears. He looked at her and gently caressed her cheek with his hand. "Please, tell me what is wrong? Why do you cry such tears?" She looked up at him and close her eyes.
"I can't do it... Even though I must, I can't do it." She looked up at the clock. One minute left until midnight. She reached back and grabbed the hilt of the knife. She silently drew the knife from its sheath. One final tear ran down her face. "I'm sorry." she thrusted the knife deep into his chest. "And goodbye." She let go of the knofe as the Prince fell to the ground. He reached out to her, his hand shaking as he laid there.
"Why...I loved you...why..." His hand dropped to the ground as he closed his eyes. Just as his heart stopped beating, the clock rang at midnight. Cinderella stood there staring at the Prince's corpse. Her body began to shake as she looked at him.
"What have I done?" Her eyes went blank from emotion. She turned around and made her way to the clock tower. As she made her way up the many flights of stairs, her mind was devoid of consciousness. Soon, she reached the top of the clock tower. She walked over to the edge of the clock tower. She turned her back to the edge. She fell backwards of the clock tower. As she is falling, she fades in and out of her ball gown and the rags she once wore. Just before she hits the ground, her body changed into a skeleton. Her skeleton hits the ground and bursts into pieces. Then, the witch appeared beside her corpse.
"Well now, I didn't expect she kill herself. But it doesn't matter now." The witch pulled her hood off her face. "Because now I have a new face." The hood reveiled that the witch's face was Cinderella's face. The witch snapped her fingers and Cinderella's skeleton bursted into flames. The flames reduced her body to ashes. A sudden gust of wind blew her ashes in the wind and disappeared. "You have been replaced, Cinderella." The witch walked away from the spot where Cinderella once was. She walked over to the Prince's body and crouched beside it. "This never woudl of have happened if you didn't betray me. If only you didn't turn your back on me, I wouldn't have used magic. Then I wouldn't have changed into a ugly hag and would want to kill you." The witch stood up and took a few steps away. She turned back to his corpse one last time. "Farewell, my childhood sweetheart." The witch left the prince's lifeless body laying there as she disappeared into the night. But in the distance, there was still people watching the prince's corpse. It was Cinderella's twin stepsisters who were watching the entire time. They silently looked at each other and waited for someone to speak.
"What should we do?"
"We need to tell someone about this."
"But who? Who do we tell?" They paused for a moment to think.
"Let's tell Mother. She will know what to do."
"Yeah! Let's go!" They hurried off to find their mother. Out walking in the town was Cinderella's stepmother. She was making her way back to her home after leaving the Grand Ball. She heard a voice from behind her.
"So you are her stepmother." She turned around to see the witch there. She turned pale as a ghost seeing Cinderella's face there.
"How is that possible? I killed you! How are you still alive?!" The witch chuckled slightly at he shock.
"Yes. Cinderella is indeed dead. Thanks to you, I have a new face and my revenge is complete." The witch started to chant of an unknown language. The stepmother grew frightened and started to run. She ran out into the road and froze. She looked up the road to see a carriage coming fast. It was the carriage that transported Cinderella to the Grand Ball. The stepmother sttod there in the road as the carriage drew near. She closed her eyes as the carriage struck her. She was sent flying into the air and crashed into the ground. The carriage sped down the road and vanished out of sight. The witch loomed over her as she laid there. "Wasn't it yesterday that you loomed over Cinderella?" The stepmother tried to look up at the witch.
"M-Monster." The witch smiled at her.
"I'm a witch, not a monster. Farewell." The witch pulled up her hood and disappeared. Soon as the witch was gone, the stepsisters came running down the street.
"Hurry up! You're slow!"
"You're one to talk. It's hard to run in heels." They slowed down a bit to catch their breath.
"Let's rest then." They looked over to see someone in the road.
"Hey, is there someone in the road?" They walked over slowly and gasped.
"Mother!" They ran over to her and sat beside her.
"Mother, what happened to you?" The stepmother looked at them and tried to speak.
"Witch... with her face..." The stepsisters looked at each other as the thought about that person that stood over the Prince's body earlier.
"You mean that person who looked like Cinderella." The stepmother nodded her head and close her eyes.
"Mother, don't go!"
"Please don't leave us!" They shouted in unison.
"Mother!!!" They weeped there in the road until someone showed up and called the undertaker to take the stepmother's body away. They silently went home and cried themselves asleep.
The next morning, news about the Prince's death spread throughtout the kingdom. Everyone in the kingdom grieved over the Prince's death. The stepsisters sat in their room grieving over their mother. One looked out the window as the other laid in her bed. Finally, they broke the silence that has lasted since last night.
"We should turn that witch in."
"How? She looks like Cinderella."
"We will accuse Cinderella of the Prince's death."
"What about Mother?" That witch killed her too."
"They won't worry about Mother now. They will kill the witch for the Prince's death."
"You're right. We will get revenge for Mother."
"Let's go." They rushed out the door and hurried to the police. In the town, the witch was walking about with a smile on her face. She enjoyed her new face and now there was no Prince to lead the kingdom. She chuckled to herself.
"This kingdom will fall to ruin and I will enjoy watching it fall." Suddenly, she was surrounded by policemen with swords pointed at her. "Is there something wrong, officers?" One of the officers walked up to her and pulled out his cuffs.
"Cinderella, you're under arrest for the murder of the Prince." The witch took a step back in shock.
"What?!" The officer grabbed her wrist and slapped on the cuffs.
"Don't resist us and come quietly." They slapped the other side of the cuff on her other wrist. "Take her away." The officers lead the witch into the police carriae. After the witch sat down in the carriage, the slammed the door shut. The carriage sped off in the direction of the Royal Palace. The witch sat quietly in her seat surround by officers. Soon, they arrived at the Royal Palace. The witch stepped out of the carriage after the officers stepped out. They lead the witch into the throne room. Sittingon the thrones was the king and queen. The officers bowed before them after forcing the witch to bow as well.
"So, you are the one who killed our son. What reason did you have for killing him. The king stared at the witch waiting for her answer. The witch stood silently, deciding no to speak. The king grew angry at her silence. "Answer me!" The queen started to sob loudly in her throne before running out of the room. The king stood from his throne and pointed his finger at the witch. "Since you will not answer me, I will sentence you now." He took a deep breath before speaking. "Of with her head!!!" The witch flinched at her sentence. The officers handed her over to the royal guards. They walked her to a cell and left her there. She sat down on her bed and looked out her window. She spoke quietly to herself.
"Those fools think they can lock me up." She started to cast a spell. She looked over and saw a guard pass by. She stopped casting her spell and remained silent for the rest of her time in her cell.
A hour later, the guards came to get the witch and take her to the guillotine. They lead her outside where the guillotine stood looming over them. In front of the guillotine stood a large group of people gathering for the execution. The guards walked the witch up to the stairs to the guillotine. They locked her head in the lock of the guillotine. One of the guards placed his hand on the lever to the blade of the guillotine. The witch glanced over the crowd and noticed two familiar faces. It was Cinderella's twin stepsisters out in the crowd. She could hear them talk to each other.
"This is for Mother." The witch cursed them under her breath. Soon, one of the guards spoke up.
"Cinderella, you have been charged with the Prince's murder. Do you have anything to say before your sentence is carried out?" The witch smiled evily at the crowd.
"I hope you all suffer after my death." After she spoke, the guard pulled the lever to the guillotine. The blade came down taking the witch's head clean off. The stepsisters started to pray, not for the witch, but for their Mother."
"Mother, you may rest in peace." The crowd scattered off to resume their daily lives.
"A few days later, the stepsister's mother was buried. They stayed by their mother's grave after everyone else had left. A voice rang through their heads. It was the voice of the witch.
"I curse you to hang yourselves after your mother is buried." Their eyes went blank as they walked back to their house. After returning home, they hung themselves from the rafters on the ceiling. They all died a scary ever after.
