Mmkay, so I spent hours upon hour searching for the last lightning rod I needed to deactivate (Stupid me forgot there was a door on the other side of that bridge...) By the time I DID find it, I'd already had plenty of practice getting the correct of destroying blocks. wink I solved the puzzle on the first go (WOOT!!!) We headed down to the last Sorcerer's Ring pedestal and I made haste in breaking the last block on Volt's seal. I was GOING to walk through that hideous lightning-lit path room and get the chest behind those two red blocks...but I kept falling. (It's weird, cause I was always able to get past there before.)
Okay, so we undid the seal and out comes Volt! YAY VOICE-SKIT TIME!! Through Raine, Lightning-pig (seriously, the ball inside his crackling electric shell looks like a pig with spiky wings.) told us that his pact with Mithos was broken, and as such, he no longer wished to have dealings with any humans. Sheena pleaded with him again and instead of being civil, Sparky attacked. Corrine sacrificed himself to save Sheena (it was very touching) and used his final breaths to reassure that everything would be alright.
I have laundry to do...let me finish this later.

Battle with Volt, Corrine heroically sacrificed himself to save Sheena's life, and the ninja promptly lost it. Of course, she just had to watch her best friend die in front of her eyes. Wouldn't you be out of it too? Lloyd (and the others) regained conscious ness and the former leaped up to shield the mourning ninja from Volt's electronic attacks. He snapped at her not to let Corrine's sacrifice go in vain and she got up, the spirit's bell clenched in a death grip. Thus did we do battle with the overly-temperamental Summon Spirit of Lightning!
Volt was...hard. Not nigh impossible, considering my part was all lvl 55 and over, but pretty difficult. Enough to get me into a scare when Sparks stubbornly refused to let up with such attacks as "spark wave". No one died (or got close to it) but I sure was getting edgy. Then Genis leapt in and delivered the finishing blow! I think the battle took...a minute 1/2. (Shorter than the guardian of water actually...)
MMKAY, so we took the ring (helps you find your soulmate apparently...ain't that interesting?) and booked it. Orochi met us at the entrance and told us the Rheairds were back with the Renegades. This time it was at their base in the north, caught in the midst of a snowy fjord. Desperate for a quick jump that didn't happen, my party piled into the EC and we set off for Flanoir's continent.
I tell you what, those rocks are not at all easy to steer through. It's a good thing the laws of physics don't apply in video games or we'd be stuck there forever. The amount of times our ship's nose swiped through a rock... I (sooner than expected) stumbled on the base and disembarked as soon as I could. Our Mizuhoan friend met us at the entrance with another spy. (He's very clever, to have been hiding under Yuan's nose this whole time.) They told us the Rheiards were in the hanger and that 3 passcodes were needed to access that. Naturally, we had to find the passcodes on our own. I went running through the place, found the first two codes with an hour, got zapped by the laser traps more than once, solved a teensy bit of the puzzle by experimenting with the Sorcerer's Ring, and eventually had to run back to Orochi so I could save.
I didn't play again for two days. When I went back (last night) I found the last code quickly enough, the Memory Gem quicker still, and solved another bit of the puzzle. I take great joy in destroying objects...
I ran around fighting for a while longer, then had to turn it off. (I was only playing an hour.) When I finish the Renegade base, I'll come back and let you all know~! wink
