Christmas with Kinoko

I can't believe you remembered me Emoticon
Rotting there in that cell
Thanks for the gifts,
and Joyeux Noël
I've bust out of this cage though
So now i'm wanted and on the run
They say breaking out of jail is hard
I showed them how it's done
The guards tried to stop me
But I'm just so hardcore
I insulted all their mothers in rap and
while they cried I waltzed out the door
Being locked up for so long though
Without any precious alchohol to drink
Put a lot of funny ideas in my head
It really made me think
No, not about what I had done
The actions that put me in the penitentiary
Instead I thought about getting sweet revenge
Once I was finally out and free
With so much holiday cheer
I think I'll take a page from Dr. Seuss
I'm recruiting you to help me
Don't want to? That's hardly an excuse
This year I'm stealing Christmas
I'll do it even better than the Grinch
All those WGers won't know what hit them
With your help I'm sure it will be a cinch
So let's hook Cappi up to the sleigh
And I'll go grab some wine
I don't plan on being sober
When I claim everyones gifts as mine
When the WGers wake to no gifts
They'll all start to cry boo-who
When they ask who could of done such a thing
I'll blame it all on you
Merry Christmas!

Name Him
By Leanux Trafton

Eyes that glow red and a handful of cards
He attracts the crowd, what silly lard
Doth nobody realize who accompany him?
His loyal follower through thick and thin
In his left hand does he dare sit
Watching his master play with the crowd’s wit
Eyes like black pebbles lay upon a beige surface
It’s their attractive shine that suggest greater purpose
Quietly the rabbit replays each trick in his mind
Knowing the illusion, humor does he find
The little thing chuckles and smiles to himself
Because as the crowd grows, so does his master’s wealth
A boy and his mother make their way to the front
The rabbit stares back, giving a short little grunt
“What do you want?” the rabbit glares
On his back raises the little hair
The boy smiles and blows a quick kiss
Master wasn’t paying attention, the action goes amiss
The rabbit grows calm, his smile resumes
It quickly dies as the crowd grows gloom
No problem at all, master was waiting for this
Starting their best trick he does a little twist
‘Poof’ does the happy bunny go
Where is he now, nobody knows
A few magic words and he jumps from the hat
The crowd claps and cheers “Would you look at that!”
At the end of the show does his master take a bow
“That’s not it! No way, no how!”
Master looks down at the boy, taken aback
The child climbs the stage and pats the bunny’s back
The rabbit sits taller and poses for the crowd
“Name this creature” does the boy request out loud
Master smiles and says “A friend of thee”
Relaxing his stance he finishes “I give you, Cappi”

As he runs a nervous hand through his red hair
His friend walks up and hands him a baby hare
Puppet looks down and couldn't help but smile
In his hands does he hold something worth while
A handful of cotton wrapped up in a blue blanket
Around a tiny foot is a tiny anklet
As the proud father runs a finger through fur
The baby rabbit begins to stir
Feet move, a nose wiggles
Ears twitch and a little tail jiggles
Puppet gently nuzzles his new addition
Eager to find out a name, he beats his friend into submission
"It's special and its meaning is deep"
"What is it?" Puppet asks as the bunny falls asleep
"Zaychek." His friend's gentle voice said
Puppet repeated it before kissing the bunny's head
"Time to go, my love" Puppet said in a loving tone
A 'thank you' and 'goodbye' later and the two were on their way home

Puppet the Magician (Frosty the Snowman)
By Knight of Plagues
--------------------------------------
Puppet the Magician was a jolly happy soul,
With a fluffy rabbit and a few missing teeth
And two eyes made out of God knows what.
Puppet the Magician is a fairy tale, they say,
He was made of skin and bones but the WGers
Know how he came to life one day.
There must have been some magic in that
Old silk hat they found.
For when they placed it on his head
He began to dance around.
O, Puppet the Magician
Was alive as he could be,
And the WGers say he could laugh
And play just the same as you and me.

I went to see a show one winter evening
The crowds got bigger the lights very brightening
But what really caught my eye, was not the performers or contraptions
It was a single man... A soloing magician
He hair bright read, eyes glowing with delight
The fact that his tooth was missing is truly a sight
I was very interested in this man as he struck a pose
It was then as he bowed he pulled out a rose
"For you my lady" He wink at me
I was quite embarrassed now that everyone could see
But was it kindness? or maybe harmless flirting?
"Let me repay your kindness" I said as he thought I was joking
With a snap of my fingers fireflies then appeared
the eyes that were just so bright now gleaming so sincerer
As he pulled me from the crowed right up to his side
He said in a soft voice "such a young talented girl will not be allow to hide"
I blushed as he said that I was now dubbed.... "friend"
So as we walked back from the stage I smiled and said " I hope to magic with you until the every end"

Reunited
By Leanux Trafton
--------------------------------------
Sitting on the sidewalk he pocketed his cards
Business is slow and daddy grows more weary
With not much else to eat I guess we feast on leftover lards
It seems as everyday goes by he becomes more dreary
Every performance brings back old pain
It doesn’t help that it’s that time of the year again
Daddy rubs his temples as he slowly goes insane
Please give us a break this year, amen
A couple years back poor father lost his macaw
It was this time of the year and he was in the middle of a show
It flew out of his hat sending the crowd into awe
Someone tried to shoot the bird as daddy yelled, “No!”
Unfortunately the frightened thing flew away and never returned
At least that’s how daddy told the story; it was before our time
His friends gifted us to him to ease the pain, we learned
But nothing could make him truly happy after the loss of Stein
And that is where our plan comes into play
Zaychek and I are going on a journey to bring back the happiness
When daddy falls asleep for the night the two of us are going to sneak away
We’ll then return with Stein and daddy will be overwhelmed in sudden bliss
“Bedtime” he called to us and we snuggled into his coat
The three of us pressed up against a building and ten minutes later did we hear him snore
“Ha ha. Father stirred most as you tried to climb out” my baby brother did gloat
I didn’t care though, I was soaking in too much valor
After taking one last look at our father we started on our journey
In the story he spoke of a traveling circus that came by every year
It was close by but dangerous; one of us will surely end up on a gurney
Hearing the ground pound we stopped in our tracks to spot a deer
Attempting to grab its attention we yelled and we hopped
But the deer didn’t hear us and continued on its way
We then tried screaming in unison and it finally stopped
It was a doe and she laughed, “I thought rabbits were awake during the day?”
As I tried to catch my breath my brother stepped in
“We have a question for you. Please, we need help”
Curious as to the dilemma she said gently, “I’m Fin”
Frightened by her size my brother opened his mouth only to yelp
I told her of the circus and asked for its location
She nodded in understanding and pointed with her tail
Happy as ever we thanked her with admiration
Hopping away we went through the woods and followed a trail
Over rocks and under branches did we work our way through
Aware that we were not alone we kept extra precaution
Unaware of the time we were shocked to see dew
Quickly realizing it was morning we were overcome with exhaustion
Deciding to take a nap we snuggled into the grass
“Good morning, daddy” were the last words we spoke
“Get your tails away from my house!” said someone crass
My eyes shot open to see quite an ugly bloke
“Who do you think you are?” My brother shot back
We both stood up, brushed ourselves off and readied for a fight
The mole backed up, “This is my home, give me some slack”
‘There are two of us and only one of him’ I thought with delight
My brother sighed and told me to back down
I shook my head in disbelief and cocked my head
“Father wouldn’t want us to fight,” he said with a frown
I nodded in agreement and got out of my makeshift bed
“Thank you two. I’m sorry; can’t be too careful”
We shrugged him off and started again for Stein
On our way my brother chattered me up an earful
He was hungry but we couldn’t stop, we didn’t have time
The trees spread wider and wider until we found a road
Cars were passing by at the speed of light
Beginning to cry my brother pointed to a dead toad
He had become roadkill; it was a horrible sight
Being the older sibling I wanted to be a good role model
I took in a deep breath and bolted for the other side
Up to the edge of the road did my brother waddle
I made it and smiled but my fear I could not hide
“Do it for daddy!” I attempted to encourage him
Nodding, he held his breath as he darted toward me
He stopped halfway and his optimism went dim
He almost made it until skinned his knee
“Zaychek! No!” I couldn’t help but scream
I bit down on the back of his neck and pulled him onto the dirt
“You said I could make it. You’re so mean.”
Hearing him cry and seeing the blood, I was deeply hurt
I couldn’t do anything else but lick his wound
He twitched in pain and continued to cry
Hoping it would help, to him I did croon
I didn’t stop singing until every tear went dry
Being the soldier he was he stood up and waited
I gave him a small smile and we began moving at a slow pace
I attempted small talk only to be evaded
Side glancing him I saw hatred upon his little face
Dirt turned into grass and grass turned into sidewalk
I took notice of our surroundings and spotted a veggie cart
“Don’t bother. He won’t share anything.” Came an anonymous squawk
Looking up we noticed a bird whom then said, “Hello, I’m Bart”
Before we knew it Bart was standing next to me
The three of us looked back at the cart with sadness
“I’ve got a plan” Zay said with such glee
In no time the man yelled, “This is madness!”
As the food rolled away we took what we could and ran
Hiding behind garbage cans we feasted like kings
I gave my brother his props, “Excellent plan!”
He smiled back at us, “No way he could stop us with a face full of wings.”
As we finished eating I couldn’t help but think of dad
Apparently Zay had noticed because he nudged me and smiled
Hesitantly I asked Bart for a favor, he responded “Anything you want, lad”
I told our tale and the bird nodded, “You mean Mr. Wild”
“Mr. Wild?” my brother and I asked in unison
“Yeah, you know – Stein. He stopped working at the circus years ago”
We sighed in defeat, this new news being quite troublesome
“Now he sings in the park, wanna have a go?”
Happy to hear the park was close, we jumped for joy
Bart whistled for a buddy and the two birds lifted us into the air
After a quick few minutes one of the two birds yelled, “And deploy!”
We landed in the middle of a crowd who then began to stare
We began asking around on the whereabouts of Mr. Wild
Nobody understood us, except for one who spoke up
“Oy, I’ve paid everyone already. Be gone with you, child”
I couldn’t see him but needed his attention, I jumped into the cup
An exotic, angry bird flew down to our level
Pecking me away, I backed from his earnings
It was him; happy, I stood proud as if having earned a medal
My brother squealed in excitement, to home we will soon be returning
“What’s this all about?” Stein asked of us
“You worked in the circus with a man called Puppet”
Turning away from us, the bird let out a cuss
Turning back, “Yeah, yeah I did. What of it?”
“We came to bring you home to make him happy”
“Make him happy, eh? He ain’t mad I left him?”
“No. Sad. That’s Zaychek and I’m Cappi”
I couldn’t help but think: Things are growing terribly grim
Inside my head I heard my voice from the dark
What if papa wouldn’t want us anymore?
“Go away, I don’t want you anymore!” daddy will bark
Where would we go? What will we eat? What’s in store?
We were a gift because Stein had gone
Why would he need us if he came back?
This is a mistake, we’re ruined our own lives, this is wrong
We thought we were smart but a brain did we lack
We threw our lives away; we are now homeless
Realizing the truth I couldn’t help but let the tears flow
All of a sudden Stein’s voice boomed, “What’s this mess?”
Catching my breath I turned to Zay, “Can we talk, bro?”
Hesitantly he nodded and followed
We hid behind a trashcan as I shared my conclusion
His brain automatically pulled back memories in which he wallowed
His voice broke out through the tears, “We’ve been in a delusion”
I cried with him for a few moments and then shook my head
Wiping our tears away, I asked him what we should do
“Finish the job for papa, and then leave them be” he said
Despite this being a good thing, this day we would forever rue
Reaching an agreement we returned to a confused Stein
He waited for a few moments before asking, “What’s going on then?”
“We need to get home”; he gave me a look; “Everything’s fine”
Out of nowhere Bart lands in our circle and says, “We should get Len’”
“Where have you been? And who is Len?” asked Zay
“Giving you guys privacy, and he’s that friend of mine”
I couldn’t but help think: How would Len come into play?
Reading my mind, Bart responded “Flying is for what I pine”
He whistled to the wind, the bird from earlier coming to the call
Bart lifted Zay and Len carefully lifted me
“Flying is faster than walking,” Bart said. “We’ll be there before nightfall”
We left home as two and now to home we return as three
Closing my eyes I remember the last moments I spent with dad
My heart swelled in pain as I silently said goodbye
Thinking I was afraid, Lenny said, “If you don’t look down, it’s not so bad”
I smiled up at him in thanks as I tried not to cry
Bart’s voice came loudly as he stated, “Again, get ready to deploy”
Looking down, I recognized the area and told him to land in the grass
He acknowledged my command with a nod and a, “You got it, old boy”
In no time were we on the ground, hidden amongst green mass
Without anyone noticing, I told Zay my plan
Taking a deep breath in, he nodded and returned a weak smile
“We’ve got to go, it’s getting late, see you later man!”
As Bart and Len left, I turned to Stein, “Home’s about half a mile”
“Take care of papa, please” pleaded my brother
I gave Stein specific instructions and then wished him well
“What? Wait! A-Aren’t you guys coming with?” Stein wondered with a stutter
“He won’t want or need us anymore, don’t worry, I can tell”
Stein was confused but gave a quiet “Thank you” nonetheless
We told him everything he’d need to know and then hopped away
The combination of rapid hopping and overflowing tears left us breathless
Stopping for a moment I focused on blocking memories that wanted to replay
Zay shook his head, proof he was having the same problem
Attempting to ease the pain I spoke softly, “It’s for the best”
Like a stone, he stood there facing the ground, he’d never looked so solemn
I nudged him slightly, “We’ve been through a lot, let’s find a place to rest”
I began hopping but Zaychek turned around
Drowning in sorrow he screamed out, “Goodnight and goodbye, daddy”
Hearing him say that, I lost it and buried my head into the ground
I screamed and I cried, this was a downright tragedy
Remembering we did it for him didn’t help; my soul tore into tiny pieces
Closing my eyes I thought of him and even thought I heard his voice
“Dad?” I asked the wind as I considered insanity as my thesis
His voice came stronger, “Zaychek, Cappi! Where are you boys?”
“I can hear him; he sounds so clear” Zay said, nose pointed to the sky
My head shot up in his direction, “Wait! You can hear him too?”
We whipped around, ears listening hard – they did not lie
Stein hovered high above us repeating, “I see them! I see the two!”
Sprinting for his life, our father quickly came into view
“Are we in trouble?” My brother and I feared, crouching closer to the dirt
He stopped a couple inches from us, his cheeks turning a pink hue
Zay and I quickly worked to look presentable and to hide the hurt
We smiled up at him, attempting to brave it through
But when his face looked back at us, it was filled with tears
His voice quivered, “Where are you going, you two?”
We messed up, reality intertwined with our greatest fears
“We thought bringing him to you would make you happy”
I looked at my brother as he tried to justify our actions
“You left! I had no idea what happened. I’d gone daffy!”
He looked away from us, obviously needing some distractions
My brother smiled weakly in my direction
“Are you mad at us?” I asked, trying to help
“I was worried,” he said with a quiet inflection
Unprepared for Stein’s landing, I let out a yelp
Father spun on his heel and asked if I was okay
I nodded as I wondered why he even cared to ask
Aggravated that father thought he had hurt me, Stein yelled, “Hey!”
Still confused by this, I decided it was time to take father to task
“Why do you care about us when you have Stein?” I blurted out
“The whole reason you had us was to replace him,” my brother put in
Astonished, Stein couldn’t help but comment, “That’s what this is about?”
Father on the other hand stood there for a minute and then said, “I need gin”
Beginning to cry, father sat beside us and covered his face
“All these years and you think your father’s just going to leave you?”
My brother looked at Stein and responded, “But… we were meant to replace –“
“Your father loves you both. Nothing can change that. I thought you knew.”
I looked up at father as the story slowly came together
He sprinted to stop us, he cries because we don’t think he loves us…
Through his tears he managed a few words, “I’ll love you guys forever”
Looking into Stein’s face, I knew his words we could trust
“We love you too, papa! We don’t want to leave!” Zay shouted
We jumped into his lap and cuddled close, Stein taking a spot on his shoulder
I couldn’t help but giggle for his love I had stupidly doubted
The wind blew gently against us, letting us know it was getting colder
An old friend on his shoulder and a son in each pocket
Father wiped away his tears and stood up with great care
Happiness allowed his heart to beat faster than a flying rocket
To home we returned and with enough love to share and spare
