I received a phone call an hour ago from a number I've never seen before. I answered it, expecting some telemarketer or something lame. But it was one of the ladies that hosted the Matsuri Festival that I volunteered for a couple of months ago. She asked if I wanted to volunteer in another Festival they are having next Thursday at a park in Bakersfield. Of course I said yes! She said every 4 or 5 years they get a group of foreign exchange students from Japan and take care of them as they visit. She asked if I wanted to go to a dinner they were having on Monday at Hodels that would be paid for, this conversation was getting better! lol.

The last thing she mentioned was that next summer, about 14 or 15 people will be able to form a group with her and go to visit Japan. Telling me that they treat you like royalty and that they pay for EVERYTHING. For the food, hotel and all that good stuff, the only thing the student has to pay is for the plane ticket, which is pretty cheap! So she was saying to save money and that I might be able to go to Japan with them to visit! This is all thanks for me volunteering in the Matsuri festival in art class. I'm so glad I did!! If I go, not only will it be my first time out of America, but it'll be the place I've always wanted to go!
