So I went to the Bon-Odori festival down in San Jose today, and had some fun. We saw drumming, bingo, the food court with traditional japanese food, and alot of awesome clothing and stuff for sale. I would have gone wearing my yukata and obi as is tradition, but I don't know how to tie a decent obi, and I don't have all the things necessary to wear one I pinned up my hair fancy, anyhow. (Not of the festival, but the stores were selling it. Down there they have pottery for sale, books, clothing, fabric, food, and much more. They even have a manga cafe.) I only had ten bucks on me, so I ended up not buying much, but it was good. I got a incense holder in the shape of a cat, vanilla incense (Smells sweet and mild, it's different from the musky and deep scents I'm used to. Mom hates it, Dad hates it, the cat hates it.), and rose incense, which I have actually been looking for for a while. (It's deep and musky, but in a flowery sense. It's not very strong. Mom, Dad, and cat hate it too.) So now I have golden pavillion, kyoto cherry blossoms, rose, and vanilla. Vanilla will probably smell good when it burns and not burn my nose. I usually only use half a stick at a time, you see. Of course, the rose and vanilla sticks are only half as long, so I can probably afford for my nose to burn two vanilla sticks in one night. After shopping around we went to this ukelele store my Mom had wanted to see, and we chilled out in a cafe with a mocha and italian soda. And it was good. I really should go to the cherry blossom festival down there next year. They sell more stuff.
