All the words I hold in and all my emotions deep within
Threaten to spill from my mouth and into you.
I hide my secrets behind lies because you’ll never understand.
The truth is good, that’s what they say
And I will tell you one day
But right now, that won’t work
Because the truth I have to say will hurt.
I’m afraid to say what’s on my mind
Instead I choose to hide behind lies
Lies that obscure truth and keep me safe
One day I will say what must be said
You will never look at me the same
But I will be free
And that’s all that matters to me.
