In 2009, my family and I went to a party held by Macy's to give appreciation to the employees. The theme was Chinese New Year.
Yesterday, February 27th, 2011, they held another Macy's Party at Coconut Joes.

My grandma is an employee at Macy's, almost two and a half years now. My mom, Joe Joe, Kristen (Joe's girlfriend), Charles and I went to the party. This year the theme was Hawaii. It was nicely set up. There was awesome music and pretty lighting.

When my family got drinks, Charles and I shared a Shirley Temple. I love those! And I stole Joe Joe's cherry umbrella for my cup. lol. The food was tasty. Piece of Chicken with Roast beef with Salad, beans and a bread roll. I drank water and Iced tea with it.

After food, they gave out awards and gift cards to Macy's employees. Sadly, my grandma didn't get anything. It may be because she is part time for changing prices. I know my grandma is a great worker because I hear the workers always asking her to be manager. The awards took a while, about 9pm people started dancing.

On the dance floor, there was a guy who was dancing out of control. He was the only one dancing for like 10 minutes. It was nasty dancing. Charles didn't want to dance until other people danced because he doesn't like people doing that in public. So we waited for a while until other people started dancing. We then went out to the dance floor and danced for about 30 minutes.

The DJ played good songs. Every dance Charles and I have gone to together, they play "Baby got back". It's funny because it's one of Charles favorite songs. So after dancing, there was cake; there was Chocolate cake and Banana cake. I had a few bites of the chocolate since I didn't want to over indulge. Charles LOVED the Banana cake and ate his entire piece! After we all ate some cake, we left the party.

We drove to FoodMaxx to get a few things and went home.
It was an awesome night that ended bad for me. When we returned home, I went into the garage to feed my cats. Della gave me some canned food that she didn't need anymore and I decided I'd give it to them.

I used a can opener, opened it all the way except for a small piece. I lifted the lid too with my left hand and it sliced my right thumb. It BARELY sliced it, but it was a DEEP cut. I bleed so much that I thought at that moment that I was going to die. I have thin blood so it bled constantly. I ran to the sink and cried for Charles help. It didn't hurt until I placed it under running water. That's when it STUNG bad.

I started crying and Charles ran to get the first aid kit. He opened it as I held pressure with a napkin, which got covered in red. Charles wiped the cut a peroxide napkin and wrapped my thumb with a cloth, then sealed it with the tape. He kept calm the entire time and made me feel a lot calmer. I felt so happy to have him there. He really helped.

I went into my room and changed into pajamas, laid on my bed for like 30 minutes with stinging pain. Charles talked to me for a while, then I went to bed.
I know the night didn't end too well, but I really had a good time yesterday.
