Ivy
Ivy has long been a symbol of fidelity. When growing on a house it protects against evil but if it falls off and dies it is a sign of misfortune. If ivy refuses to grow on a person's grave it is said they have a restless soul. If it grows abundantly on the grave of a young women then she died of a broken heart. Ivy was carried by women for good luck and fertility. It is said wearing ivy leaves can protect against intoxication. It is associated with the Roman god Bacchus and wine. unless paired up with holly ivy is considered bad luck if brought into the house or given as a gift.
