Tailan stared up into the night sky admiring the stars hanging in the sky as she contemplated the turn of events that unfolded within the last week. She gently poked her cheek and stood and walked quietly around the side of the house into the thicker part of the forest. Not even needing to pay much attention as to where she was goin she mindlessly walked to her favorite spot. Tailan smiled as she seen looked up and seen the big oak tree in front of her. She walked around the side and sat in the dip between a tangle of big roots sticking from the ground, she felt secure between the roots of this beautiful tree and often came here when something was on her mind. Leaning back against the tree she mumbled to herself "geez y me?" She closed her eyes and dropped her head into her hands as she thought about how much she didnt want to leave her home, when she heard a noise just to the side of her. Her head shot up and she jumped to her feet pulling the dagger out of her shoe.
"Hey put that away damnit, u trying to kill me?" Taisin exclaimed.
She breathed a sigh of relief as she recognized her twin brother's voice. She turned and flung the dagger at the tree right next to him and glared through the dark
"Dang you Taisin what did i tell you about sneaking up on me, u scared the living daylights out of me."
she said as she walked past him to fetch her dagger. He reached around her and pulled the dagger from the tree and muttered "show off" under his breath and handed her the dagger.
She took it slid it back into her shoe and plopped back down in the dip between the roots. He walked over and sat on the biggest root right above her right shoulder. She leaned back and looked up at him and her stomach did a flip, for she was going to miss him so much. He seen a look of pain cross her eyes and slid off the root and sat next to her and rapped his arms around her.
"I know it hurts Tailan, but dont look at the sad and bad of it all think about all the world outside this forest you shall get to experience." he murmured to her.
She looked at him and the tears rolled down her face and she whispered out "I dont want it, I want to stay here with you and mom, dad, and baby tali, how am i to just up and leave what i love so much?"
Taisin wiped her tears and stroked her cheek and whispered "I know sister and I dont want to see you gone from us no more then you want to leave." he put a finger under her chin and made her look at him and whisper "but know this sister no matter how far you are i will know when you are sad, happy and like every time before when there is something that is bugging you and i will always be there for you in here." he placed a hand over her heart "and here" he moved that hand to the top of her head then rapped her in a hug and whispered "ill always love you no matter how far away you are and you will always be on my mind, now lets get back before we are missed at home."
He stood and held out his hand. Taisan grabbed his hand and stood up and poked his side and said with a smile on her face "give me a piggy back ride for old times sake."
Tailin smiled and said "sure why not." She jumped on his back and rapped her arms around his neck and giggled as he spun in circles. she ruffled his hair "thank you" she murmured as he walked home through the familiar path. "Anytime sis." he replied.
She sighed before they made it out of the forest and asked "what if i dont like him taisin?"
He patted her cheek and replied "that is for you and only you to decide let your heart chose?" "Gahhh i hate when you sound so wise but i know your right so you win their." she said with a grimace on her face that quickly turned to a grin and she gently tapped the bend of his leg with her foot and as his leg buckled she quickly pulled his legs out from under him grabbed his arms and held them behind his back and laughed. "but im sure as hell gunna miss taking your a** down." she giggled out as she let go and ran ahead of him only to yelp seconds later as he caught up to her and picked he up and tossed her over his shoulder and held her there and spun around as they both laughed. He put her down and they walked the rest of the way home side by side.
