Roleplay Samples/Other
Samples of my past roleplaying experience, in case people need them, and whatever else I feel prompted to write down: ideas, notes, whatever.
For the the final few minutes before the numerous alarm clocks throughout the house rang obnoxiously out, Reecer dwelt in the place between consciousness and unconsciousness. He was locked in wistful hypnotism, experiencing no dreams but only being part of the wakeful world on the most distant plane of awareness. For that brief time, he was a primitive being, no thoughts, no decisions, no reasoning.

On previous mornings, Reecer had found that the alarm clocks of the other students staying in the house (some had several, for some inexplicable reason) woke him more than sufficiently and had quickly ruled out the idea of keeping his own personal alarm. The irritating screech cut through his light sleep like a knife through soft butter and he was pulled harshly into consciousness. Thoughts and memories instantaneously flooded back into his mind. He remembered Liberty High (an ironic name, to be sure. in the one day they'd been there, reecer had taken to calling it hell high), the students there, most apparently endowed with an incurable superiority complex, and the fact that it was only his second day. On his first day, he had been spoken to by one person (no more, no less), and she had been previously assigned to do so, which completely didn't count. But it was all good. Reecer was completely okay hanging exclusively with his superhuman buds. Some arrogant part of his innermost soul told him grudgingly that he was too good for the run-of-the-mill humans anyway. Did they have extraordinary powers? No. Did Reecer? Oh yes indeed!

That thought in mind, Reecer rolled out of the bed, thumping loudly on the ground as his medium large body hit the floor. He stood, attempting to remove the shroud of blanket in which he had become entangled in his descent. After much tugging and struggling, he felt the cool air on his bare chest and the hardwood flooring under the pads of his bare feet. With a smirk he discarded the rumpled blanket onto the bed and made for the bathroom. On the way, he clumsily pulled off his pajama bottoms and cast them carelessly aside, becoming explicitly aware of the breeze on his unclothed body. The water in the shower was lukewarm, thanks to the other students who had risen before Reecer. As a result, he was clean and stepping, soaked, onto the slick bathroom floor in an uncharacteristically short amount of time, disgruntled at his misfortune. Hot showers were a small mercy during such a depressing dilemma. Casting the self-pitying thoughts from his mind, he moved carefully to the mirror and began the long process of intricately styling his hair and inserting his prized ear piercings. The tinily vain part of Reecer's persona looked over his chest, sighing with satisfaction. He had worked long, hard hours to achieve his almost perfectly toned but slim body. It took more than lifting weights; he had had to remove most to all junk food from his diet and stick exclusively to balanced nutrition intake. It was so worth it, but Reecer found himself craving chocolate cake once in a while while nibbling celery or asparagus.

Having finished styling his hair and dressing himself in a plain white shirt that gently hugged his muscled torso, boot-cut jeans, a light black jacket, and unremarkable black shoes. It was simple, but Reecer liked it simple. To top off the ensemble, he put on a pair of dark sunglasses, sprayed himself with a little fragrance, and made his way down to breakfast.

It looked like everyone was just fending for themselves this morning, so he grabbed a whole-grain muffin from the back of the counter and started picking from it, nodding a good morning to Cheryl, of whom he wasn't particularly fond, and to the rest of the students who had also emerged. None of them seemed very talkative, so he didn't say anything, instead concentrating on the muffin and getting to school on time.

Luckily, everyone was ready on time and he found himself piling into the government-issued vehicle designated to transport them to Liberty. On the bumpy drive, he reflected on how much he yearned to use his ability, to evaporate into the air and become practically nothing. It was a wonderful sensation, but initially took some getting used to, and Reecer missed the brief time when he was allowed to utilize his skill at any moment he wished. Still, he knew he'd get to the end of it and the time would come when he could use it again. He knew there was little he could do about his predicament, and he had decided long before that he wouldn't fret too much. It would only depress him and couldn't be helped.

When they arrived, Reecer hopped from behind the sliding door of the van and took a despondent look around. It was such an average place, with students mingling about their morning routines, frantically doing homework they had previously blown off, pathetically trying to hide the lit cigarettes they held on school property, which was of course illegal, exhaustedly clutching cups of hot coffee, or socializing animatedly with their comrades, plumes of water vapor vomiting forth from their gaping mouths. It was all ridiculous, but again, it couldn't be helped, so Reecer just made his way to the history room. Having not been enrolled in Liberty for more than one full day, Reecer had not yet felt the temptation to ditch just yet, but knew it was only a matter of time. He didn't bother looking for Olivia, the girl who had apparently been assigned to show him around the previous day and who was supposed to be acting as a guide. Luckily, he recalled the location of the history room from the previous day's tour.

As chance would have it, there were already a few others present. Tori was there, Miki, Arielle, and a girl that Reecer only identified as Louisa by the fact that Tori and Miki were sitting by her. She took on so many different forms; it confused Reecer a lot of the time, and ever since he'd met here, he'd thanked his lucky stars that his ability was so straight-forward and not so complex. He plunked his stuff down in the seat next to Arielle and cast her a friendly smile. She was quiet, but nice. "Don't you wish we were back in Canada sometimes?" He said with exasperation, more to all the others rather than just Arielle.
