Arceus was the first thing to exist in the universe. Using the bits of shell from the egg He emerged from, he created the stars, planets, and his special plates. But it was difficult for Him to maintain everything by Himself, so He created the Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina to help Him. Dialga was given responsibility over time, Palkia was given rule over space, and Giratina was given control of the warped eggshell pieces that were used to create a second world to balance out the first one. Then Arceus created Uxie, Azelf, and Mesprit to be the foundations of life: Mind, Body, and Soul respectively. With their help, He brought the first true life into the world, and named it Mew. By this point, Arceus felt drained from creating so much. He decided to rest and let Mew carry out the rest of His plans for the world. Mew carried out Her duties diligently. She created the Demi-Gods and gave them responsibility over certain areas of the world. She then created mortal Pokemon to inhabit those areas. Even some of the other Gods and Demi-Gods assisted Mew and created mortal beings to help them with their duties. Dialga created Celebi, Palkia created Deoxys, Regigas created the golems (Regice, Registeel, Regirock), and Ho-oh created the Beasts (Suicune, Entei, and Raikou). She even went beyond Her orders and created an entirely different type of being, called Man. But Man proved to be unpredictable. Fearing Arceus' wrath, Mew hid among the mortal Pokemon.
