The one thing that annoys me in Valkyria Chronicles 2 was how THE PLOT COMPLETELY MIRRORS THE PLOT OF VC1.
VC1:
Welkin Gunther becomes the unbecoming leader of a ragtag group of militia soldiers, and through his down-to-earth leadership skills, win a long chain of vital battles that tip the scale of the current war.
Eventually, someone on his side of relative plot importance dies (Isara). Later, he defeats the enemy female commander (Selvaria).
And finally at the end another person on his side dies and repents for their mistakes (Faldio), and defeats the Big Boss commander (Maximilian) on a large war vehicle (Marmota).
He then becomes endangered from the vehicle collapsing but gets to safety at the last second.
VC2:
Avan Hardins becomes the unbecoming leader of a ragtag group of cadets, and through his down-to-earth leadership skills, win a long chain of vital battles that tip the scale of the current war.
Eventually, someone on his side of relative plot importance dies (Juliana). Later, he defeats the enemy female commander (Audrey).
And finally at the end another person on his side dies and repents for their mistakes (Leon), and defeats the Big Boss commander (Baldren) on a large war vehicle (Federation Warship).
He then becomes endangered from the vehicle collapsing but gets to safety at the last second.
