Greetings from the Dimensional Nexus
Princess Skye
User Image

Skye, true daughter of the Mother, and Princess of the dimensional nexus. Her powers are the same as the Mother's, and those I'll cover when I get to the Mother herself. For now, know that Skye was not born like the others Goddesses. The first sixteen were crafted from her will, on souls drawn from a place I know not of. Skye was born of the Mother and her great mortal love, aeons ago, as a successor to the Mother. Her true title is The Goddess of the Nexus.

Niether Skye nor her mother speak much of her origins, and they say nothing of her father. There is love, though. There would have to be, since pregnancy, so far as I can tell, is essentially a choice for the goddesses, and a non loving relationship would not likely lead to a goddess choosing to have a child. Mostly, I believe this secrecy is an attempt to protect him. There are questions as to whether they speak to him from afar, but I will offer no opinion on this. For now we can consider the matter closed.

If you're looking for some great drama, look elsewhere. Yes, Skye is very normal for what you'd expect of a goddess princess with all the powers of her cohorts and her mother. She doesn't like to dress to regally, and she spends a lot of her free time working with her hands. She especially enjoys smithing metals, doing so completely by hand as mortals would do, with no extra magical aids. I was astounded by this at first, but she's very skilled, and I can see the joy it brings her. In fact, it's almost theraputic for her. If she's angry, smithing can let it out. If she's happy, smithing can be a celebration. I watch her work and think back to my old life, and I feel ashamed. Here's a goddess who doesn't have to work at all, and yet she works harder than most mortals I knew, and certainly harder than I ever did. If there's an inspiration in my trying to make up for it now, My Lady Skye is certainly it. Otherwise, she also enjoys reading, singing, and training with a sword. She's very persnable and approachable, and general hates to be referred to as my lady, like I did just a moment ago for the fun of it.

All that considered, you'd think she might have a problem with her lot in life, but she doesn't ever seem to. I honestly believe she's ready to accept full responsibility for the balance of the universe. She certainly has courage enough not to back down from it. Sometimes I feel for her. She's part mortal, and has a strong free will, but is pretty much trapped in what her life will be. Still, she embraces it. I don't think she's too content with the thought of her mother dying someday, but it's something even the goddesses must do eventually. All I know is that if it happens during my tenure, I will be there for her with all I am able, and I know the other goddesses will as well. She has our love and devotion, and our everlasting thanks for accepting the role she was given. Still, I can't help but feel like it isn't fair.

Maybe that's the point, though. Maybe the Mother wants free will to be more present in the governance of the balance. She can see many things that I, and even the other goddesses, cannot, and I'm sure Skye can see those things, too. Either way, so long as she's happy, I guess there's no reason to complain.

I'll also be covering Skye's effects on me in battle during the Mother's introduction, which will be up shortly. Till then, that's all on Princess Skye. Peace be with you.
