Celeste's Life
Things going on that concern me, or short stories that I come up with and have no where else to put them.
Captian's Log : Carl Edition
Captians Log
Day 0:
A strange and hitherto unknown demigod has been razed by a rebel group of vampires. In a desperate attempt to help keep this being literally afloat (he appears to be a giant, flying, orange jellyfish) Gaians from all over are boarding airships and are attempting to bring aid.

Feeling moved by the demigod's plight, I have decided to hire a crew myself and join in the race to bring aid. I have commissioned the 'Meridell to be built in order to carry us and our supplies. It is a titan-class ship...this basically means that it will hold a ton of stuff (literarlly once again) but is pretty slow.

Earl, Charles, Sam, and Timmy make up my crew complement. It seems a bit silly to me to have only four crewmen, but I cannot afford to hire anymore.

Which would be why my guide is Carl. Yes, I know. He's an elk. A mean one at that. But at least he was cheap.

Day 1:
I have met Carl for the first time today. He didn't really have any suggestions on what I should bring on the trip. Not that I was really expecting him to. What I was expecting was for him not to eat them, which is what he did do. In the end I decided to go with ammunition (spending all of my remaining money on it) in favor of actual food. I'm a pretty good marksman, and figured I could hunt what we needed.

Interesting enough, right outside of Barton I met a gentleman who decided that he should no longer be burdened with worldy possesions. Right then and there! So I decided to do the only thing I could at the time and help him out. After all, he didn't believe in them anymore, it didn't mean that I couldn't. Besides, I might need the money for something on this journey. More ammo or something.

Though I might not need some if Charles keeps using his spare time to make bullets out of forest logs. I guess he really likes his meals.

Well, there was an unexpected turn of events this evening. We had some air turbulence that broke all of our dishes. Not being able to agree on what to do with the pieces, we finally glued them all together. It made an interesting sculpture. A passing aesthete saw it and wanted to buy it off of us. Not really partial to it ourselves, we sold it to him for fifty gold. Woohoo more money!

When we stopped for the evening meal, Carl wandered away from the ship. Thankfully he was easy to follow, leaving behind a bunch of broken branches. Who knew Sam was so good at tracking? He found Carl eating a fresh bunch of sassafras, and decided to gather some up for our own stores. I've never had any before, so we'll see how it tastes.

Day 2:
We found a downed airship. I though we should explore it for survivors or supplies. All we found was a diseased rat. Poor Earl now has tuberculosis.

Sam was up in the mast and managed to find a falcon's nest. We needed the food, so voted to keep the eggs. Hopefully that was a right decision, even though I don't feel quite right about it.

Carl got his antlers tangled up in the steering wheel. Apparently he doesn't like where the steering wheel is. The side to side movement slowed us down a bit and made me a bit naseous.

Day 3:
We ran across a large sequoia known locally as Ol' Respectable. This tree is a local legend and has withstood thousands of years of floods, forest fires and assassination attempts by radical anti-tree militants. So awed, we spent some time just admiring the tree and taking pictures of it.
