Days on Destiny: 23
Even I...

Rachel woke screaming, fighting against the hands pressing her down against the bed. Panic was full in her system and she was able to pull her right arm free, clocking someone in the chin and freeing her other arm. Something pressed on her chest, pinning her to the bed. Frailing limbs collided with bodies but whoever had pinned her down wasn't letting up.

It wasn't till she realized Everett was the one over her did she stop fighting, though her heart was still pounding away and her breath was still short. She watched his lips move but didn't understand a word as her right hand became free. She gripped Everett's sleeve, finally registering his words

"-a dream. We're not going to hurt you."

Rachel blinked, finally looking around at the faces. Nicholas and TJ were to her right, TJ closest. Matthew Scott was on Nicholas' other side and Ronald Greer was opposite of Matthew, Eli between Ronald and Everett. Everett slowly removed his hand and Rachel reluctantly let go.

The entire room seemed to breath in relief once Rachel had released her grip. The two Lieutenants and Eli gave a bit of space between them and the bed, relief clear on their faces. Nicholas took a step back but stayed close, Everett never leaving the side of the bed as TJ looked Rachel over.

After a while, the three near the door stepped out. TJ sat Rachel up and she took the offered glass from Everett, finding that her hands hadn't quite stopped shaking from the ordeal.

She hesitated, chewing on her lower lip before looking up at the three remaining people in her room, asking, "What happened?"

Nicholas spoke first. "You were having a nightmare. Nearly gave Eli a heart attach when you wouldn't wake."

"When did I start fighting?"

"When I came in to try and wake you instead," Nicholas stated, sounding almost bored.

Rachel got the impression he had withdrawn from the situation long before the others had shown up. She then had a thought, flexing her right hand. "Who'd I hit?"

"Eli, Rush, and Young," TJ offered quickly. "You nearly caught Scott with your foot and missed when you aimed for me."

Rachel rubbed her index finger on the rim of her cup, muttering, "Sorry."

A hand was placed on her shoulder, and she looked up to meet Everett's gaze. "What had you so scared?"

Rachel shifted, chewing her lower lip. "I....It wasn't something that would normally have me reach like that but...."

She sighed, looking up with determination. "The setting had been just before I had gone through the stargate and everyone here was in the room where Draco and I had found the stargate. Draco and I rushed in, locking the door behind us and rushing to the middle of everyone. The stargate activated and everyone started rushing through, even with the knowledge that there was no turning back. The door shattered inward as screams went up. Draco and I did what we could but it wasn't enough. Something changed and I ended up on the observation deck with both Everett and Nicholas. We were talking bout something but I can't remember what. It had something to do with loses, I think. The door behind us opened and we turned. I actually half expected it to be Eli, to be honest, but it wasn't him. Two shots out of this weird weapon and both of you were on the ground. Three....aliens entered the room and then were suddenly trying to grab at me. I fought back but I was soon pinned against the wall."

Rachel sighed again, making a face. "My dream to a weird path from here. It was like I wasn't dreaming anymore and I knew it, but I kept seeing the aliens so I fought back. I guess that's where the panic came from."

"That's understandable," Nicholas snapped, poison on his tone that wasn't directed at Rachel at all. "Everyone panics when being abducted."

Rachel shook her head, stating, "That's the thing. I wasn't scared about being abducted. I wasn't even being abducted in the first place. I was worried about everyone on Destiny. I panicked because I didn't know if you two were still alive and knew that things were going to end very quickly without both of you."

Rachel could see that all three were doing their best not to look shocked. Rachel smiled weakly, muttering, "Sorry for scaring everyone. Fevers do weird things to me."

Rachel rubbed the back of her neck, chuckling uneasily. The smiles on the others' faces informed Rachel that she had eased up the tension in the room. She had a feeling, though, that she was stuck in her bed for another day.
