Days on Destiny: 21
Even I...

Rachel hissed as the wall panel before her shocked her. She dropped the wrench in her hand and held the now numb appendage to her chest, snapping into the radio, "I thought you said the power was off, Eli."

"Sorry!" came the disembodied voice from the speaker. "It should have been and is now."

Rachel sighed and shuddered, pressing her hand closer to her chest. "Alright. I'll try at it again but if the blasted thing shocks me again, I'm giving up before I break it."

There was a pause where Rachel was sure Eli was snickering. She smiled. The radio crackled to life, the smile clear on Eli's voice. "Let me know when you have something."

"Will do."

Rachel went back to work, flexing her hand briefly before picking the wrench back up and sticking it into the tool kit. She pulled out a screw driver and pulled a few pieces out with the leverage, looking them over. Muttering a few things under her breath, she cut and crossed wires as she put things back. Once the panel was in place, she picked up the radio. "How's that, Eli?"

"Better. The climate control is now cooperating a bit more. It should get a little warmer now."

Rachel sighed, smiling weakly. Three days and already she was worn on trying to fix the fluxing climate control. She stood up, tool kit in hand. "Good. I'll be heading back, then."

"See ya when you get here."

Rachel clipped the radio to her waistband and started the trek back. When she reached the Core room, Nicholas was snapping at Everett about something. Rachel paid no attention, handing Eli the radio without a word and placed the tool kit in the side room. Rachel settled at a console and got back to work.

Hours later, Rachel was startled from her work by a heavy fabric draping over her shoulders. She looked up to find all except Nicholas gone and watched as Nicholas settled back down in front of his console. Rachel gripped the hem of the blanket now around her shoulder and glanced at it. It was the one out of her room.

Not even a half hour into her work was she interrupted, this time by the ship moving out from under her and voices calling her name. Shivers racked her body for a brief moment before stopping, which seemed to cause panic in the voices around her head, her vision unfocused. Rachel couldn't see any reason to keep her eyes open, especially when they were so heavy. A warm body pressed up against her side as the floor was pulled away from her. Rachel snuggled close to the body, gripping the fabric covering the chest. Within seconds, she was out, wondering faintly who had screamed her name first.

...last for a while
