Background information: Living as an orphan [His real parents died at the age of 3], his guardians died when he was 13, [He was very close to his 'father'] soon after he takes cares of all the other orphans. Because of the lack of food and water, he steals for the children, but it wasn't enough, many died of diseases and starvation, leaving him under depression, seeking out any cigarettes he can find to get out of the depression. He left the children who lived under the care of a young woman who said she'll take them in. [Except one, and Petals who loves him] The rest of his time, he steals for a living, until he met Kometto. The spoiled child irritated him, but he can see he couldn't leave the kid alone, leaving him only to help Kometto find his father. He risked himself to save Kometto and to keep his promise to the Queen, which was to keep Kometto alive. He is found to save Kometto many times, even once being yelled at Kometto to leave him alone. Sun still becomes loyal to him. He was then kidnapped, leaving Kometto to realize that Sun is the most important person to him right now... So instead of going to find his father, Kometto is forced to find Sun and save him...

There has been many occasions after meeting Kometto, that Kometto tries to kill her, also despite that he likes Yoru.
