Kayden`s Random Writings 3!
After a few moments Misa would look to Taye and smile, “Thank you very much for the flowers. You have honestly made my day better.” She hugged him one last time and then looked back into her home and back to Taye. She was waiting for him to say something...or at least hoped he would. So she could get out of her house since her parents were fighting. They were always known for fighting and Misa often ended up in the middle of it...not as a target of the argument...but more like a punching bag for both her father and mother. The reason she wore such covering clothing was so that nobody would see the bruises on her skin. Taye was one of the few who had ever seen them.
With a nod Taye would oblige Misa’s thoughts by piping up and saying, “Hey, I’ve got another surprise for you...do you want to come with me?”
The girl squealed in joy when he said this and nodded, “Yes...can I stay at your house tonight...?”
Taye tilted his head a bit and then chuckled, “You are more than welcome...but you won’t need to stay at my house since we’re going somewhere and staying out for the night. Are your parents fighting again?”
Misa looked to the ground quietly and nodded but didn’t say another word as she stared at the ground and twirled her foot a bit on the pads of her feet.
Taye nodded gently. He would not prod into the girls parents life simply out of respect. As much as he wanted to help there really was little he could do beyond letting Misa stay at his house as much as possible and being a friend to the girl like he had always been, though it had risen from simple friendship at this point the fact was that he would always be there for her.
With a smile Taye would motion for Misa to scoot into the house, “Hurry up and pack a bag. The sooner the better blondie that way we can go already!”
Misa giggled a bit at his comment and turned hurrying into the house. She scooted past her parents who were sitting at the kitchen table glaring at eachother and making rude comments. It took no time at all for Misa to grab her little backpack, throw some extra clothing in it and hurry out of her house unnoticed. When she came outside she would see Taye playing with a few strands of his hair while sitting on her steps.
“Boy oh boy...that hair looks sooooo interesting Taye. Having fun?” Misa would ask him teasingly as she walked down the steps and stood in front of him.
Taye jumped a bit when the girl had spoken and turned his head to her and shrugged, “Not really...My mother made me wash it last night so it’s all silky and nice...I just like the feel of it is all.”
Misa shook her head a bit and said, “You sound like such a dork when you admit something like that. Nonetheless...it’s cute.”
Taye chuckled a blushed a bit as he let go of his hair and climbed to his feet, “Are we ready to go?” He asked curiously as he looked off down the road. At the end of the road a shrine was barely visible at the top of a large set of stone steps. That was their destination.
Misa nodded and motioned for him to lead the way, “I’m ready! So lead the way mr. Leader!” Along with her bag Misa was also holding the small bouquet of flowers Taye had given her. There was no way she was leaving them home for her parents to hide...otherwise they’d be wrecked.
With a smile and a nod Taye began to walk down the road. It was about a mile to their destination so that gave them plenty of time to talk to one another as they moved along.
As Taye kicked a small stone over and over again he would look to Misa and say, “So...if you don’t mind me asking, What was the argument this time?”
Misa turned her head to Taye and seeing the sincerity in the boys eyes like every other time she couldn’t help but smile and tell him exactly what they had been arguing about, “They were arguing over me...they are complaining that I’m too expensive to keep around...like I’m some pet or something. And of all days they do it on my birthday and tell me that they are considering sending me to an orphanage.”
Taye blinked in absolute disbelief when the girl admitted about what her parents had been fighting about, “That’s so mean! On your birthday they tell you they want to send you away to an orphanage! That’s not nice at all...and if I have anything to say about it you won’t be going anywhere!” He growled angrily but in truth it was hard for Taye to look angry...his facial features always looking more frustrated and cute than angry.
Misa looked to the ground and said, “Thank you Taye...I know what they did was wrong. And in truth it wouldn’t bother me very much. But...you are the only thing that keeps me wanting them to not send me. We’ve been friends forever! I don’t want to be separated from you...not now. Not ever! So promise me Taye, if I get shipped off to some orphanage...that you’ll come to see me! Please?”
Taye turned to her suddenly and knelt down, “I promise to you Misa, on my own life. We will never be separated! Ever! Even if that means I have to convince my own parents to take you in or something! I promise we’ll never be separated!” He then jumped up and hugged her, “Friends forever!”
Misa giggled and nodded, “Thank you Taye.” She hugged him back and a small tear ran down the side of her cheek as she held him tightly. She felt so uneasy.
