My Journal
Subject 4117
I stared coldly back into those weird eyes, trying to figure out where mine were. "What happened to my eyes?" I barely manage to gasp out the words. Heavy weighted realization settled onto my chest, and I heaved forward, but nothing came out. Only mucus and bile. I choked back on sob, because there's no way I was going to cry in front of these monsters. My blue eyes: gone. Replaced with messed up mis-matching ones. Ugly. My mother's eyes: gone. All biological reminders were to be forgotten. Mommy and Daddy are to be forgotten. A quiet sob shakes my body as I lean forward, trying to stay quiet.
"Subject 4117, come." My torturer barked as I stood up silently, tears burning in my ugly eyes.
"Good boy." He praised, smirking at his success. "Now, be good boy, and take your medication." He started to walk towards me, but another scientist grabbed his arm and whispered into his ear. I couldn't make out the words, but I made out, "...Kill..." or maybe it was, "...Pill..." Either way, death seemed like the lesser of two evils. I stared at them as he nodded once more, and walked over to me. Hissing in my ear, I could feel my torturer's hot breath. And smell it. My thoughts were else where as I imagined tuna. I was abruptly shook, and then I listened, "Didn't you hear me?! If you don't take your medication, you will experience a great pain, and then you will die. We will test you to see if you took it." I noticed how they all wore relfective goggles and didn't dare to look me in the eye. I raised an eyebrow slightly at that, but didn't let any other part of me go out of line. I sighed as they slipped another needle into my neck, and fell into sweet darkness.

When I woke up, I was in my cell block. If you could call it that. It was more like a closet that they shoved food into; but 'cell' was an appropriate name for the dismal place I shared. I smiled weakly at my cell mate, Matthias. He, like me, lost all reminents of his parents. They even stripped him down and found his paper with their names on it. And the picture. And the scrap of a baby blanket. All burned. I had to watch Matthias, to make sure he didn't kill himself, or else I would lose my food for a week. I shuddered, remembering the last time I lost my food. A lion had roared inside of me and had tried to eat my internal organs. Trust me, extremely painful. I learned quickly that this was their world, and we are just its play things. I sighed and sat in the farthest corner from the door, trying to make myself invisible under the thick blanket of darkness. My hiding place was stolen from me when another scientist aimed the bright lance of a flashlight at me.
"Found it!" He grinned a shark-smile.
Of course, where else would I be? The testing rooms? I thought bitterly. Idiot
"Now come with me, or else, subject 4117..."
Another sadist. I felt my lips curl into a snarl.
"I see..."
"I see, I see, said the blind man who couldn't see at all..." I growled.
"I'm not blind, you brat!" He grabbed me, and tossed me against the wall.

I jumped up, and grabbed his reflective goggles, and I felt as if there was a wall between me and the stupid sadist. The wall crumbled as he stood helplessly, staring into my eyes. A loud snap, then he ran around the room, barking like a dog.
