These are a few of my personal favorites:
Adblock Plus
It's an easy to use ad blocker that allows you to add your own filters and block whatever images, frames, flash and java you want. There are also subscriptions to block tracking cookies used by advertisers.
Download Status Bar
One of the things I hate about Firefox is the pop-up download manager. DSB puts your downloads into the status bar right in Firefox. You can easily manage them with out changing windows. Common image file extensions are also automatically cleared.
Foxy Tunes
Control your media player with out changing windows. Works for Youtube videos too.
Image Zoom
Flip, rotate, zoom in and zoom out images using your mouse. Do you hate when someone posts a picture with out resizing it so the page is stretched? Use IZ to shink the picture down so you can read the page.
Tab Mix Plus
Close a tab by accident? With TMP you can get it back in a single click. Keeps a list of closed tabs as well. Allows you to customize tab appearance and has a session restore feature.
Text Link
You don't have to copy and paste non-hyper linked URLs, with TL you just have to double click!
Yahoo Toolbar
If you use Yahoo mail this toolbar can be worthwhile. It alerts you to new messages, has an inbox preview, allows you to preview gmail and lets you customize buttons. There are also applications you can add on to this toolbar to make it more useful.
