The surprise

Clearly evident.
But I wished,

That this would happen
Just so.
The sparks flew,
So to speak.
I was lifted,
Drifting,
Exhilarated.
My whole body
Had waited
Oh so patiently,
But I could take it
No longer.
I released myself,
Gave you my soul,
In exchange for
Your lips,
Your hands,
You.
Why did it take
So long for
Us to
Realize
We had it right
All along?
We fell apart,
But never
Did we
Forget.
Call me back.
Take me into your
Arms again.
If only for this
One last time.
Distance
Shall not be
An issue
