Welcome to my world...
The Fabric Dreams Are Made With...
He draped his hand over the small of her back. She smiled under the lamplight, her dress flickering with the candles. He leaned into her, his lips trailing up her neck like a butterfly. She breathed in, the warm smell of his dress jacket tickling her nose.

“We never did get our dance.” He whispered when he finally reached her ear.

She smiled, leaning back against the rim of the fountain, “I haven’t danced in a very long time.” She whispered nervously.

“Well that’s not really a problem.” He whispered, kissing hungrily up her jaw line.

“We don’t have any music.” She sighed, her breathing becoming shallow and more noticeable.

“I’ll sing for you.” He smiled, leaning back to meet her gaze. Her eyes glimmered under the moon, the green and gold flecks perfectly contrasting the blue tiled fountain. The sound of the bubbling water brought him to a small sliver of perfection in his mind. He grinned as she gave him a puzzled expression. “How about a waltz?” He asked.

She looked out into the trees surrounding the balcony-like enclosure. “A waltz.” She repeated.

He pulled away from her, still partly off in his dreamland. Except this time, she was really with him. He hummed the beat at first, lifting his right hand. She placed her hand on his shoulder, letting his voice carry her to the dance floor.

At first, she looked down, watching her steps carefully. But slowly, she began to follow up his chest, back to his eyes. They followed each other, his hummed tempo becoming more of a melody. She knew where he really was.

He pulled her with him around the fountain, admiring the sense of control he felt. In his mind, they were on a crisp meadow of grass. Her white flowing dress was like a snowy wave around them. She watched him as he sewed her into the fabric of his dream. Slowly she watched his eyes close, and let his description create the same place in her eyes.

They both were in a perfect world, his voice leading her along.

He opened his eyes, meeting her gaze. Finally they realized just how perfect the real world was. How perfect they could make each others lives.

His voice faded within the trees. She still thought she could feel the blades of grass under her feet. The dance ended, and he gave her a low graceful bow.

“Thank you.” He whispered.

“My pleasure.” She grinned, the threads of his imagination slowly fading from the scene around them.
