Here I sit in my room staring,
staring at the many masks I wear to amuse others.
The mask of happiness with a smiling personality,
only to hide my deep depression within.
The mask of hatred with its deep burning anger
to hide my true feelings of love and compassion from the world.
The mask of sympathy with its loving heart,
hiding what I really think towards your situation.
The mask of courage with its touches of bravery,
secretly hiding my fear and cowardliness from you.
The mask of an obedient child,
hiding my urges to lash out and rebel against you.
I just keep looking at all these masks I keep in a jar.
You don't know my true feelings and heart.
For the faces you see are the masks I wear.
