Yet another rant. OK, I'm already having a bad day... I feel like crap, my dad won't pick up his god damn phone even though I've called, like, 40 times. Then this kid next to us has some video up, his computer turned up, and ignores it. So I get irritated and tell him to mute his computer, and he types up some thing on his phone about being deaf and not giving him bad attitude. OK, first things first... How the hell was I supposed to know that? He doesn't have a blinking sign above his head telling everyone he can't hear them! Second... Just because you have some sort of disability does not give you the right to ignore the needs of everyone around you. There's a bunch of signs around the lab that it's a "quiet zone"... It's comkmon curtesy to mute your computer or use headphones. Just because he can't hear doesn't mean he should be able to get away with something like that. Oh, and if someone gives you lip and you have a disability THEY DON'T KNOW ABOUT, that doesn't make them the bad guy. Seriously, I think the disabled are coddled too much or something... I keep meeting people who think that just because there's something wrong with them it gives them the right to treat everyone else like crap. It doesn't. Only... And this is the best part... I feel bad for thinking these things. I mean, it isn't their fault... But they still need to stop acting like a*****e. We're all human... TREAT US LIKE IT.
