s**t happens, but not if I can help it.
The Fog
Those of you that actually have or ever will read these of course know about the fog in dusk, of which I am about to write. It's been a while and I have neglected this journal for two reasons. One being that the dusk dreams have been few and far between since about August. The other being that as of last night I've come to realize there is something about having these dreams that inspires me to write in the first place. As such, last night I did indeed visit dusk for the first time in a good while.

The dream started out random and silly, as most dreams do, making no sense, but I could feel it starting to get deeper. Things starting to become increasingly important to me personally as well as huge leaps in detail. All of a sudden, however, I found myself standing beside one of my best friends, James, and being very aware that I was asleep and in control of my dream. James immediately asked me "Is this your dream we're in, or mine?" to which of course I replied "mine" thinking either this figment of my subconscious was just trying to manifest my sudden realization that I was dreaming, or that somewhere else out in reality James was also asleep and had jumped into my dream.

I disproved the latter part as of thirty minutes ago or so. xD

Anyway, I turned away from a scene that had just been in the previous dream state, which involved military people and snowing at night and a large aircraft. In front of me as I turned, however, was a foggy scene of a mountain a good deal away, insanely large, but with three massive, square, concrete holes in the side leading into the mountain. James and I got in his car and proceeded to drive over, the fog becoming increasingly thick as we went. As we arrived at the place, we got out and proceeded up what could be described as a concrete staircase as tall as some of the stone staircases leading up the side of a temple or ziggurat. The gray square hole in the mountain had fog pouring out of it and rolling down the stairs and mountainside which spread out in all directions from there. I am assuming this to be the source of the fog which permeates all of Dusk.

Inside we stumbled around and I realized that I had indeed been here in a previous trip to Dusk, for this place is like a maze of hallways and staircases, the walls and ceilings of which are lined with tubing and large old pipes. Every so often a vent will spout fog or a handle on a pipe will rattle and steam.

Deeper into the place we came to an opening out of this maze which revealed the inside of the mountain to be hollow, and far larger than it had appeared from the outside. Concealed within from a cliff-side view were the tops of six power plant cooling towers, poking up through the fog. Where you could sparsely see through the fog, there seemed to be a small town built amidst the plants, interwoven with them.

Currently I have no idea what this new place is other than the apparent source of the fog in Dusk. I have no idea what its relevance is beyond that or if I have ever been in the town situated below the cliff.
