Tommy: You're in a dark decrepit little room. Door's to your left.
Me: What if there's a door to the right, with something more appealing behind it?
Tommy: You can never tell. Sometimes one door will be more appealing. Sometimes that door's locked. Sometimes it doesn't lead where you think it should. The important thing is that you eventually find your way outside.
Me: The door handle's on fire. Is burning my hand worth getting to the other side?
Tommy: Maybe someone will come and help you open it. But if you stay there for too long, the whole place will catch on fire.
Me: Will you help me open it?
Tommy: I'll try. Really hard. I don't want the fire to eat you up.
