I am appalled that my country has adopted a policy of degrading women. We would not enforce such policy on our own people, but we will "import" women to degrade. This is something we have no trouble with. Out immigration minister has a policy of granting temporary VISA's to strippers (especially from Romania for some reason) in an attempt to fill the labour need here in Canada.
I understand that strip clubs exist. They wouldn't if I could help it, but one has to ask oneself why our society is not willing to degrade themselves for illicit pleasure, but they have no problem forcing this on non-Canadians. Not only is it sexist, it is racist to boot. This is Canada's way of stating that Romanians are less like people. It makes me ill.
Strippers are usually girls who have been taken in by the medias illusion of what love and beauty is. They are being washed away in a sea of uncaring. Have you ever seen a stripper and thought, "I'll bet she has some wonderful things to say" or "I wonder if she likes the same movies I do." I am willing to wager you do not. This objectifies women as things, when they are, in fact, wonderful people. They lose sight of "who they are" and learn that all that matters is "what they are". It makes one question weather our decisions are free will, or dictated by media, society and experience. (This is a whole other topic)
At any rate, i shall include the link to the article I read. I know these views may not be popular, but they are factual. Having the right to choose what you do, will not change how you are perceived. Is money worth your soul? Do you believe your body is where love is focused? Please think about these things. Do not turn women into things, even if the pressures of life would make them want to do it to themselves. Rather than hoot at a woman, help them. Show a woman how special she is. Help a girl who has the pressures of the world bearing down on her. Life is so hard for women, and as men we tend to exploit it.
Exploit vs. Nurture - At the end of the road.. What do you want to be remembered as being?
