My first entry in over a year. This is where I will write about dreams I’ve had-- one’s that have caught my attention.
Since I could be forgetting some and will most likely have other dreams, I‘ll continuously add to this...
...naah, I'm too lazy.
#1. When I was a child, I would have a recurrent dream that took place in a park I use to go to all the time. In my dream, my mother would drive me (it was quite a distance from our home) and abandon me there in the winter while it’s snowing-- I‘ll always remember the heaviness of my clothes as they were made of wool. As I would watch her drive off and disappear into the storm, I’d yell out for her and could feel the pressure of tears building up. As soon as I start to cry, my dream ends and I always uncontrollably wake up in tears.
#2. This dream for whatever reason freaked me out a bit and it still makes me nervous thinking about it. I was in small a stable or barn, with about fifteen or more people and was wearing a dress or long robes with my face wrapped completely in bandages. I think I was a woman, but I’m not completely sure. It felt like the time period was during the Crusades in the Middle East, but again I repeat: I’m not quite sure. I was standing or sitting in a small audience watching some type of ceremony or trial that involved a group of young boys ranging from their late teens to pre-adolescence. Suddenly, two men with swords grabbed a boy who looked about fifteen or sixteen and started violently dragging him out of the building, and I clearly remember lunging towards them while removing my bandages and screaming, “No, that’s my son. Don‘t take him away.” After that, I awoke.
#3. I pretty much know why I had this dream, but despite this, it interests me. Last year, a few minutes before I had my wisdom teeth removed, my operation reminded my mother of how in World War II, there were Nazi’s who would remove gold teeth from the Jews. Because she told me this and the environment I was in (with all the lab coats and medical instruments), while asleep under anaesthesia, I dreamt I was a doctor of the NSDAP assigned to experiment on various prisoners in concentration camps.
#4. Much of this dream is vague in the sense I don’t remember the exact details with distorted imagery, but I remember the emotions I felt, as they were extremely heavy. A few months ago, I dreamt I was an old man who was grieving for his son who he had recently lost in a war conflict. Apparently, I (or maybe I should say “he”) had fought with and/or disowned his son before his death and wasn’t able to reconcile with him. I remember feelings of extreme shame, guilt, and pain, but everything is a blur, almost like a repressed memory.
#5. My most recent one took place in a large city with skyscrapers. The city's appearance seemed much like New York City, but with an almost complete absence of people and no cars. Despite the extreme lack of traffic, I was in a crosswalk, waiting for the light to change, but it seemed to be taking forever. To the right of me there was a gay couple, who were quite muscular and wearing tight, matching stripped t-shirts, and to the left of me there was a straight one, who appeared slightly above “average” in attractiveness, so to speak. Since the couple to the right of me were tired of waiting, they started ferociously “making out” to pass the time, and then the couple to the left of me saw this and began to do the same. After a short while, this made me uncomfortable, so I decided to cross the street even though the light hadn’t changed. I thought that since there were no cars, no harm could be done, but as soon as I got into the middle of the crosswalk, a car hit me and I woke up.
