Metal has allot of genres branching from it that are essentially only different by a pedal on the drums, a slightly different voice, a few tweaks to the riffs. But all of them get the badge of metal, from glam to deth.
But in my opinion metal got its trade mark sound, its blood pumping riffs and beats when Metallica came around. It gave metal that blend of brutal deep lyrics, thunderous drums, intoxicating riffs, with a surprising touch of punk. the metal we enjoy today, from the whines of panzy metal, to the roarse of deth metal. Metallica has its spot at the roots. the grand fathers of the metal i love.
They have my undieing respect despite their newer disappointing albums. They decorate my favorite shirts, their albums decorate my walls. And if have any thing to say about it, my son or daughter will love them the same way.
