Sacrifices
Probably one of the most important decisions I've ever made was to join gaiaonline. I know that sounds incredibly dorky, but it's true. It's the reason why I started using photoshop in the first place. In fact, I got my first version of photoshop from a friend there, who thought I should be using something more legit than free trial after free trial of paintshop pro. Gaia was the one reason I kept drawing so much, and how I got to the point where I am today. It made me practice over and over again, opening and closing more than ten minishops, with the hopes that maybe this time, this would be the one that was a serious success. I did get there eventually, with x__Down The Rabbit Hole. I felt so proud of myself, and so happy, that people actually wanted the things I made. It was an accomplishment, to get noticed as a minishop artist, to have people actually know my name. Granted, I was never as popular or famous or talented as [Hyde], Zhiyi, and so many more, but I feel like since joining Gaia, I still came a long way.
But now, I'm not in high school anymore. Now I know what it means to not have time for gaia. What it means to not have time to run a minishop. I had to close xDtRH. I would open temporary minishops when I had breaks last year, but even though I ended up keeping my summer one open all year long, I'm just so unmotivated to maintain it. I keep remembering that I should really be doing other things, should really be trying to make full "art" pieces instead of 20 different variations of one template, if I should open photoshop. I miss being involved with minishops, but gaia, I really don't have time for you in my life anymore. There's so much more I want to do, and I can't commit the time necessary to make it worth staying around. It's time to move on.
