Those Damn Italians

"Aspettami, wait for me..." CRACK goes his gun as he slams the butt of it into the back of some mook's head. Ezio tosses a grin over his shoulder at him, the expression dark and subtly vicious with his hood up like that, but Jackie just returns the favor as the assassino retrieves a knife from his belt and throws it with an eagle's accuracy, right into the forehead of some weird alien that looks like a cross between a hobo and a scorpion. With almost practiced ease, they sidestep around each other, their arms raised. Two bangs sound off that mingle into one in the aftershock, and Jackie gives a sharp shake of his gun as two more bodies fall to the floor to join maybe half a dozen others.

"I've been lost, adrift at sea..." The song's been stuck in his head all day, and he's blaming those freaks up on D.C. for that, with their damn crazy music wars. What, no one heard a' compromise up there? As he reloads his gun, he's aware of heavier stomps and doesn't mutter a single complaint.

"Looks like we have company, nipote," Ezio notes, and the sharp sound of his hidden blade being released is even louder than the earlier gunshots.

Raising his head, Jackie just opens his eyes, the harsh and pure gold already rolling over. Something deep within the confines of his coat squirms. "Looks like it."Just because he doesn't like working in the light doesn't mean he can't do it. With a sharp whirling crouch, sharp spines and tentacles burst out, driving through the first big guy without an inch of trouble. Something thumps onto one of the heavy Darkness limbs, the feeling reverberating all the way to his spine, but Jackie just keeps moving, gunfire lighting up his face as he nails someone in the knee.

A part of him that isn't him sees through too-bright eyes as Ezio dashes across his new leverage like he used to dash across the rooftops of Firenze. One imbecile gets a longsword through the stomach and is left to stagger there, holding his own dripping blood, as Ezio whirls around in all the confusion and drives his hidden dagger through the eye socket of his buddy. Instantly, he's off again, right after retrieving his sword from its temporary 'scabbard', to find new targets for his blades.

The light drains him of energy so quick, it's insane, and soon enough, after managing to throw what looks like a big metal diving suit at an entire group of alien mercenaries, the Darkness snaps back into wherever the hell it hides, and Jackie sags in place, his only free hand pressing against one eye socket. His face is twisted into a grimace, but he somehow soothes it over when his ancestor appears at his side and claps a worried hand to his shoulder. "It's all right, I'm cool," Jackie mutters to Ezio, but there's no time for any further worries or reassurances. Metal slams against the street, and both assassino and hitman snap their heads up. Before them is a gigantic mechanical something, it's electronic eyes glowing a menacing red.

Ezio's jaw tenses. Jackie waves his gun at the thing in aggravation. "Okay, ******** this and ******** Bristol-"

Something exploding-sun gold and white screams and whistles down from the sky and slams into the robot like a rogue comet.

Recoiling, both Italians cover their faces, Ezio with his hood, Jackie with his gunhand. When they next look up, the robot is nothing more than a flaming heap. From the midst of it is a glowing figure, features indistinguishable as it straightens up and throws its head back. As it turns to them, however, 'it' gains features and turns into a 'she'; the light-composed being of Jenny Romano smiles at them.

"I thought about using the sword, but pretending to be an earth-shattering meteor seemed like more fun, rat-face."
