Lordy lou, not another book rant!
Ohh yes, it is, in fact, another book rant. In the interest of not spoiling a book though, i won't say the title or the character names. It's part of a series though, i'll tell you that. But here, lets start a little bit before my book rant and fill you in on the last twenty four hours or so of my life, if you happen to be interested. And if you're not, then just scroll down till you see a bunch of squigglies. ~~ see? Yep, watch for those. (i happen to like those quite a lot actually. does anyone know what purpose they have being on a keyboard though? if you do, let me know. It's been bugging me.) I've got a feeling that a lot of this is just me babbling, so i won't blame you if you skip ahead at all. Anyways, So i was shopping at walmart, hitting those after christmas sales, you know? Of course, i left the store with everything BUT what i came to the store to get, but that's besides the point. A couple of my lovely purchases was starbucks coffee ice cream and a book. And, just so you know, that coffee ice cream happens to be just about the most delicious thing i've ever tasted, so you might want to give it a try. Anyhow, so i went to a self checkout and purchased my various items then went and met back up with my dad who was being slow because he had a whole cart full of stuff. Then he mentioned something about not having a spoon for my ice cream and i was like Great Idea! So i said i'd be right back and went over to that weird little subway inside of walmart (i really don't understand the whole concept of putting a food place inside of a store..it just seems..wrong? i don't know) and i wait for a few people to get out of line and i get to the front and the guys like Hey, what can i get you? and i'm like Well, do you happen to have a spoon? and he's like Um, yeah hold on. then he digs around and finds a spoon and he's like Here you go. and then i grab the spoon and say Thank you! maybe a little too enthusiastically because he gave me a really odd look. but seriously, who would have thought that subway would have a spoon? they don't even have anything on the menu that needs a spoon! Anyhow, that about wraps up my wal mart experience. I go home and start reading this book, trying not to feel like i just spent a bunch of money on a book that i probably should have just waited for the library to have in. But you know, i'd been checking for awhile for that book, and it's been on my to read list for a very long time! Yeah, i still feel like a money waster anyways..So i stayed up reading this book till like, ugh, three in the morning. pathetic, i know. And i still wasn't finished with it. I tell you, it's just about the hardest thing to fall asleep when you've got your mind on figuring out a good book. I eventually went to sleep though (after listening to some ukulele music by the lovely Ingrid Michaelson. You should check it out, i'm actually listening to it right now) and the end. And so today i finished the book. here's where the book rant starts.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So, books going along dandy good and all. (well, somewhat dandy..turns out in the book they're actually trying to stop the world from ending by a big evil fallen angel guy. See how this could be an addicting book?) and i'm reading getting close to the end. You ever have that moment where you realize, Oh, i've only got about twenty pages left. i hope this ends good! Well, i have those moments quite a lot. So i'm thinking well this book can't end any worse than the last book. I mean, they've gotta be sick of having cliff hangers by now. Ha..ha ha.. See this would be funny in a nice ironic sort of way if it hadn't been me reading the thing. Oh, want to know another thing that i always think near the end of books? I always try to be optimistic and be like Well, it can't be that bad. It's not like someone's going to die or anything. No author would be so cruel. Once again..ha.. Oh yeah, that's real funny. You know, you'd think after all the books i've read where main characters die i'd stop kidding myself. Unforunately, no. So i was totally unprepared when one of the main characters who'd been in the series for the last, oh, six books or so suddenly died. Another thing i was unprepared for? When the main character herself died! aughhh.. but don't worry, she's only SOMEWHAT dead. (WHAT?!) apparently her body's alive but her spirit left it. Again, i'd like to say: WHAT?! Gee i can hardly wait for the next cheerful installment. I can hardly wait.. that whole five months. augh! But on to other things, it's nice having the only thing to worry about in my life at the moment be a book. I'm enjoying that. Aside from the suspense of waiting for another book, i'm doing very lovely right now. Don't really have any worries with the world, but i've got a feeling it's just the laziness of winter break making me so relaxed. Anyways, that's my rant. Until next time.
