Sin, by definition, is estrangement from God, and everyone has sinned. We are born sinners, “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” (Romans 3:23); yet some lie eternally in Heaven and some in the fiery confines of Hell. Dante portrays the sinners in Hell as acquaintances and every day people, then slowly progressing to great monstrosities whose sinful deeds are immeasurable. While so many are trapped in Hell, there are some who reside with Jesus. Is it fair to say anyone may be in Hell, or Heaven? Even further, is it unfair to say only truly virtuous people make it to Heaven’s gates and the rest our shut out? Dante’s Hell is imaginary, yet everything becomes very real for the simple fact that sinning deserves punishment. The symbolism in Dante’s Inferno states that virtually, sin begets eternal punishment, although those who believe in the Lord and repent “will not perish, but have everlasting life,” (John 3:16).(from my friend Marisa Lucky)

Sin is not only the deeds of people but the very thought of one's mine and the core of one's soul. Man was made as a virtuous being neither with fault and in truth utterly perfect. However we are corrupt by the sinful nature of Lucifer a fallen angel who even now seeks a kingdom of his own which is named Hell. If all who sin are destine for Hell then there is no purpose for a God , but through Jesus it is possible to rid ourselves of this corruptive power of sin and be once more cleansed. We are not the perfect beings in which we once were; by accepting Jesus we become just a cleaner version of our old selves in which sin will prevail once again if we do not stay focused on Jesus. My purpose is not to sound self righteous and or above reproach with my proclamations for I too have slipped into my old habits and let the wicked pursuits of sin rule parts of my daily ventures. I have hurt those you have not hurt me,Overlooked the beggar in the street and participated in un-virtuous acts outside of marriage. Am I to be forsaken for these deeds and uncivilized thought that manifest themselves from my being. Am I to not gain forgiveness for I am no longer the perfect being or the clean vision that God sees in all is creations. Does God not say in all his words seek me and the kingdom of heaven is yours .. even if we ourselves deem our own insignificant existence unworthy of such riches. Yet i bow my head in prayer daily asking for forgiveness, repenting from my misdeeds and sinful thought. Trying once again to be clean, holy, and not the plague mark upon society that I am. If all who sin are truly destined for hell and it is God's will please let it be.. but if there is one ounce of hope left in the faith that i carry in my soul that we all can be forgiven be our sins small or large , once or twice, or even innumerable. I know then that I am destine for the greatness that is stored beyond Heaven's pearly gates.
