Endless Night Chapter 2: Disaster
My girlfriend had always been the outdoorsy type, connecting with nature and what not. It always puzzled me how Sabrina would desperately try to convince me to walk through the forest with her. Oddly enough, she would always ask on the night of a full moon. Every request, I would respond to and softly let her down. However, she would act solitary and independent the night after a full moon.
In my eyes, she seemed to glisten on those days even though everyone else avoided her on those days. I didn't have the slightest idea why but i had a feeling i would find out soon enough.Although, after the night of a full moon, she would also make sure to ignore me as a way of punishing me for refusing her invitations to the forest. Usually a few days would pass before i willingly apologized to her and she would forgive me, but i usually told her an excuse because i was too afraid to tell her the reason i wouldn't go to the forest with her.
On Friday September 18 during Trig. class, Sabrina secretly passed a note to me while making sure to avoid alarming the teacher. I unraveled the note with curiosity that soon disappeared. The note's contents held Sabrina's plea to go to the park on Saturday the night of a full moon. I began to write my gentle refusal until i noticed the small puppy eyes she had drawn in the corner of the note.
I briefly lifted the corners of my mouth into a small smirk. As I began to comply to her what seemed like a simple request, i noticed Sabrina wink at me out of the corner of my eye. I was taken aback.
Right then and there, i should've turned back. i should've refused her while i could and keep playing coy, but i didn't. I was foolish for being drawn in by her flirting. By then, it was too late, i had already been drawn in by her and she had me in her inescapable grasp. I regretted the decision i made that day...
