~Episode 1- The Meeting of the Two~
Mercury City, the capital of Mercuria, and ruled by Queen Godiva and eventually her son, Frederick --better known as Freddie. The city was splendid in every way possible and attracted thousands upon thousands of travelers daily. Mercury City was the start of many adventures, but not even the gods could foresee the meeting of two travelers and the adventures they would soon have together. It all begins with a little flirt. Mylin Sable--a treasure hunter, archeologist, historian, and professional meddler-- had been following someone that fateful afternoon, in Mercury City. He wore what appeared to be a white turtleneck sweater collar that had been torn away from the rest of his shirt and a ripped, green shirt with one long sleeve, while the other was ripped off. One of the legs of his pants was tucked into his boot, while the other one baggily hung over the other boot. Goggles pressed up against his head, which was covered by a green bandana. In his mouth was a freshly lit cigarette--he inhaled and then exhaled a white cloud of smoke. He could tell the person he was following had never been to Mercury City before, because she kept stopping to look around as if she were lost.
"This will be all too easy," Mylin said, as he took a shortcut to get ahead of the person and found a bench to sit on. Just as he sat down, Mylin's eyes widened. A sharp pain pierced his chest, but only for a moment. "Aw, damn it," he panted, looking that he had dropped his cigarette onto the ground. He had more, but it was just that he felt uncomfortable using his lighter. As the pain subsided, he took a seat on the bench and had a look around the city and his emerald eyes settled upon the castle towering over the rest of the city. His mind then began to wander about the antiques and various valuables inside… "And the Queen!" he thought. "Mmm, mmm, now there's a woman I'd love to 'play checkers with.'"
The person Mylin was attempting to intercept was a young woman, being followed by a rather large, dark dog as she walked down the cobblestone street. She pushed her chocolate brown locks from her face as she held a heavy, leather-bound book, closer to her.
"S'alright, Llyod, we'll find out way out of her soon, I promise."
The dog barked, nuzzling her leg, happily wagging its tail. The woman passed by Mylin, who had almost fallen asleep daydreaming, when his eyes opened up abruptly.
"My testosterone is tingling," he said, his eyes gazing beneath him. "Yeah, that's definitely my testosterone!" He looked down the road and saw the woman he had been stalking. "By the gods, she is B-E-A-U-TI-FUL!" He quietly walked up alongside her and let out a fake, yet convincing yawn, stretching his arms up and out, before wrapping one around the girl. The dog ran out in front of the two, growling and then barking at Mylin. The woman slipped out of Mylin's grasp and hastily moved herself next to her dog. The scarf she that was covering her face had slipped down her nose, revealing a very young face. She wore her hair in pigtails with black ribbons keeping them in place.
"D-Didn't your mother tell you not to touch strangers?" she asked, in a voice almost as young as her appearance. "P-please leave me be, alright? I got nothing of worth, s-so leave me alone!"
It took more than that to make Mylin give up. He was not going to let this one slip away, while he still had consciousness (other women had knocked him out for his advances, in the past). "The world is full of strangers, when you're traveling," he said, rubbing his chin in a philosophical way. As the woman turned around her grabbed her hand and pulled her close to him. "You see," he said, pulling her scarf away from her neck with his free hand as he pressed his forehead against hers, his crimson hair mixed with her chocolate, "I am never wrong when it comes to a beautiful woman. But you DO have something of worth, my fair maiden." He tilted her chin up so that her lips were mere inches from his. "May I steal you away, like a thief of most badassery, and frolic in euphoria for eternity?"
The woman's eyes widened as a look of horror and shock struck her beautiful face. She brought up her book and hit Mylin in the head with it exclaiming, "*****!" Bystanders stared at the two as Mylin staggered back from the blow and ran back over to her, covering her mouth.
"P-*****?" he whispered harshly. His skin had grown pale and his hands were numb from the serious blunder. "Just how old are you? You look at least twen--"
"I'm sixteen years old, you pervert!" she answered as the hand lowered. Mylin's conception of her changed from a woman to a girl, now. Her cheeks were flushed a dark pink as her dog stood by her side. The whole situation made the dog's muzzle look as if it were smiling at Mylin's blunder. "Just what do you think you were trying to do?" She held out her hand. "S-s-scarf, please."
"Whoa, there," Mylin said standing in front of Nancy again. The bystanders, whom had been staring at the two of them, were now gone. "I'll give it to you, if you can do something for me." He reached into his pocket and pulled out a lighter and a cigarette. "C-can you light this for me?"
"Why?"
"Just do it, please," Mylin responded. He did not want o reveal his fear, his fear of fire. "I can't believe that I was interested in some kid… Goes to show looks aren't everything." Mylin sighed and thought to himself: Although they are a veeeery nice bonus…
The dog growled.
"It's alright, Lloyd. I need my scarf back." The girl said, taking Mylin's lighter as he placed the cigarette in his mouth. He shut his eyes as the flame lit up and touched the wrap. Once he heard the click of the lighter shutting, his eyes opened up once more. He inhaled and blew some smoke above himself and the girl, before he fell to his knees in a coughing fit. Blood dripped from his mouth as his chest began to hurt again.
"Damn it, not again," he muttered. He coughed up more blood and his arms began to tremble. His hands felt clammy and his eyes widened as the pain from earlier returned tenfold. He cried out as he curled up on the ground. The pain was immense; he could not handle it.
"H-Hey, mister," Mylin heard the girl say, shaking his shoulder. She hesitantly placed a hand to his chest and her eyes looked solemnly at him. Mylin's pain blocked out all sound, but he did not need sound to read the girl's lips as she closed her eyes. "You are going to die soon." She opened her eyes again as the pain began to lessen. "A-Are you okay, mister?"
"Y-Yeah, I just fine," Mylin responded through gritted teeth. His deep breaths hurt to make and he ended up coughing up more blood. "On second thought, no, I'm not, kid," he said. "Bad Karma." He let out one last breath as his heart gave out and everything slowed down.
"M-Mister, is there any way I can help?" the girl asked. Mylin's last thought was a joke. He replied with,
"Revive me." he had always wanted to die in a woman's arms. However, this would suffice. She did fool him after all. His breathing stopped and everything went black for him.
Mylin's eyes opened up and he realized the girl was now laying on top of him , seemingly sleeping. "I-I'm alive?" he asked, stifling a laugh. "So, you gave the kiss of life? It's not *****, now." Mylin did not know he had died; to him he had just fallen asleep, in pain. "I feel good as new! Nice work, kid!" He held his hand out to her. "The name's Mylin, and I'm not a *****."
"Nan… Nan… Nancy," she responded, weakly gripping Mylin's hand. "I'm a…necro…manc…" Her head fell onto Mylin's chest and she breathed softly. She had fallen asleep.
