Born and raised on a different part of the world than Gaia, Sonia was brought up as the royalty she was suppose to be. Her parents king and queen of a kingdom rich in its wealth, military and existence. Her parents use to teach her about the "human" world when the worlds were still separate places, telling her that not all humans were horrible yet were still not to be trusted. When the worlds finally came together, war raged and brought kingdom after kingdom from both human and non-human races to destruction.
The war that ended the new peace was started by her beloved father. It was the night of her twenty-first birthday and her father threw her a grand ball. He even dared to invite all races to come just to show off the pride and joy that was his daughter on the eve of her "training" to rule over the kingdom. On this night, she met a mortal named Raidei and by the end of the eve, he had won her over with his fascinating culture. Her parents had obviously been feeding her lies about humans though this was not something she would say to them. This human, at first, came around to all the parties her parents threw on the weekends and eventually started showing up every day.
It wasn't until her mother broke into her journal and discovered Sonia's feelings for the human that things started to get out of hand. Her father banned him from the kingdom, forcing him back to the other continent that was Gaia. This made Sonia rage, throwing tantrums and starting to disregard her duties as the next heir to the throne. It got to the point where her mother finally told her to leave and to stop making her father sick of her sight.. and she did. She took off without another word to the other continent in search for Raidei. Her father put up warrants in the kingdom for her return yet she never came. It was then that he declared war only a week after her departure on the human race as we know it.
During that week, Sonia had gone from coast to coast in the Gaia country looking for her human. When she had just about lost hope and was waiting at the docks for the ship to come, she saw him out of the corner of her eye pushing a dolly with boxes upon boxes stacked. She screamed his name, making him lose control of the dolly for a second before setting it upright and catching her in his arms. He whisked her away after his shift to his home, a two bedroom home that he lived alone in. It was in this very home she spent the next twelve years of her life.
Those wonderful years. The first two years she was with Raidei were heaven-on-earth. She helped him run his own training establishment and the both of them worked on the side at a place called Crimson Nights. She married him after two and a half years on the beaches of Gambino before they returned to their home in Durem. Like any honeymoon, she got pregnant and gave birth to twins - Minoru Blade and Iaolyn Nawkeshii. During these years, the war waged heavily on the other continent and she caught word that it had entered Gaia not even five years later though it did not reach her until nearly twelve years later.
Durem erupted in flames that night. Houses, building, even cars were on fire while demons, vampires, and dark elves ran rampant in the streets destroying every human life they could get a hold of. They came to her home, set it on fire and waited for her family to go running out like a bunch of mice. They captured them and killed her family one-by-one, making both her husband and herself watch them die. Her husband gave up a fight, it took three of the five demons to kill him yet when they did.. they made absolutely sure he was dead by ripping his head clean off of his shoulders.
This sent Sonia into a blood rage, managing to pull away and reach into the chest cavities of the very men who held her down. She ripped out each and every last one of their hearts and drained the blood from them, crushing them all beneath her foot when she finished. She watched the rest of her home burn to the ground, unable to save it or any of her possessions. She ended up leaving that city, journeying across the country to Gambino where the war had not reached. She stayed in their summer home for months, dwelling over what had happened and there was to do. Eventually, she ended up packing up some things and leaving this home. Before she did, she burned the building down to make sure no one could track her.. the last thing she needed was another fight like that night.
As she started her journey, she swore by the ring on her hand that she would never love again. Mortals were bound to die and if she was destined to feel pain, she wanted it to be by her own hand and not someone else's. She ended up staying in Gambino for a while as there was talk of a so-called "cure" for the non-human races to make them mortal. It was no cure. They used the different races for experimentation to make a better race by combining and injecting genes. Her body didn't handle this well. Once they injected her, it seized and she flat-lined for two minutes though once they resuscitated her, it was over.
She tore apart the lab, sent into another blood rage though for some reason; she didn't come completely out of it. Her vision stayed red and she preformed many tests with whatever equipment wasn't damaged in the process-of-elimination. All the tests told her was that her blood was tainted, green to be precise and that it contained acidic properties when exposed to air. She left this city and headed for the mountains, exiling herself from man kind for a while or at least until the war settled down.
She ended up finding a hidden village in the mountains, monks and shaman who welcomed her with open arms despite her obvious race difference. They taught her the ways of their gods. The monks shared their knowledge of control, peace and complete liberation from one's mind, body and soul. The shamans shared with her great power, both of the elements and those said to be damned. Both taught her how to fight, defend herself in an unfortunate situation. She stayed with these people for many of their lifetimes, training the newer generations with the knowledge she knew. She even embraced alchemy and herbalism, learning to make herself remedies as she was no where near civilization to get modern medicine.
Over time, the war ended and the world returned to peace. After much time, she finally decided to leave this village and return to see what was left of her kingdom. The journey went faster than anticipated and what she came to find was nothing but ruin and rubble, and no sign of any civilization left. She returned to Gaia, wandering for a while until she came across a guild named Rock Fist and run by a leader named Samayou Tamashii. This man was one of the hardest people she had ever met and yet he showed her such compassion that she could only remember her late husband in his eyes.
It was here she stayed for much of her time with her new companion, by his side to train, fight and protect that which was her home. Though it was not love she felt for him, she still felt obligated to be by his side and loyal to his being. In her time there, she had come to find many loyal friends and companions as well as a few enemies. She left Rock Fist some months ago to journey in search of a person she saw in her dreams though when she found this person, it was not of good intention. The woman cursed her, told her to stand on her own instead of staying in the safety of one's shadow. At first, this made no sense yet she realized what she needed to do.
She trained herself now that her sight was black, trained to be able to live without it. She trained to gain control of her powers outside of Rock Fist, for the building and it's non-magical hold had weakened her more than expected. When all was said and done, Sonia could see again and not in red. She saw beautiful colors she had forgotten for many generations and could transform/shift into those other states by whim. She found that each one had different properties and characteristics, making them all unique and deadly in their own way.
Now, she journeys from place to place, including Rock Fist, just to keep herself active and in control of her being though now she seeks for more than her companion Tamashii. She plans to do many things with her life and has a new look on it as it were though she was not decided on just how long this would last.
